The Denver Nuggets have signed general manager Calvin Booth to a multiyear extension, the team announced on Sunday.
Booth, 46, took over the front office after the departure of Tim Connelly to the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer. Booth has been with the Nuggets since 2017 and was promoted to general manager in 2020.
"Calvin has been a huge part of what we've done here over the last five seasons and I have the utmost confidence in him as our General Manager," said Kroenke Sports & Entertainment vice chairman Josh Kroenke in a statement. "Cal has seen the game from every angle and has an extremely bright basketball mind. I look forward to continuing alongside Calvin and the rest of the organization with the goal of bringing an NBA championship to the city of Denver."
Booth guided Denver through a pivotal offseason as the team looks to contend for a championship this season. After signing the reigning two-time MVP Nikola Jokic to the largest contract in NBA history, Booth brought in veterans Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith via trade with the Washington Wizards and signed versatile wing Bruce Brown and center DeAndre Jordan.
Booth spent five years with the Timberwolves before joining the Nuggets' front office. Before that, he played for seven teams across a 10-year career in the NBA.
