Mike Muscala rejoins Thunder after Pistons buyout

The Oklahoma City Thunder brought back a familiar face with the signing of forward/center Mike Muscala on Saturday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team.

Muscala, 32, spent four seasons with the Thunder (2019-23) before he was sent to the Boston Celtics at the 2023 trade deadline. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 37 games (six starts) this season split with the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons before the latter bought him out.

An 11-year NBA veteran, Muscala is averaging 6.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 532 career games (45 starts) with the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Thunder, Celtics, Wizards and Pistons.
