ALBANY, N.Y. -- Carson Puriefoy scored 21 points -- including the clinching runner in the lane in the final seconds -- as No. 2 Stony Brook escaped third-seeded Hartford 69-64 in the semifinals of the America East tournament Sunday.
Anthony Jackson added 14 points for the Seawolves (23-9), who will host defending champion No. 4 Albany -- a 67-58 winner over top-seeded Vermont earlier Sunday -- in Saturday's title game.
Stony Brook, which led by 16 midway through the second half, saw its lead cut to 67-64 with 42 seconds to go before Puriefoy's bucket at the end of the shot clock.
Corban Wroe scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers and Mark Nwakamma added 16 for the Hawks (17-16).
The Seawolves used a 13-0 run early in the second half to go ahead for good. Stony Brook beat Hartford for the 12th time in 13 games, sweeping all three matchups this season.
