Western Province, Boland and the Sharks continued their winning ways in awful conditions on day four of the Under-18 Craven Week at Paarl Boys' High's Brug Street grounds on Thursday.
The Sharks defeated Free State in the main game of the day, pouncing on their opponents' mistakes to claim a 29-20 victory. Three of their five tries were scored from Free State mistakes, which proved vital as the Bloemfontein side fought until the final whistle in the hope of sneaking a win.
Boland fly-half Lionel April, meanwhile, produced a man-of-the-match performance to steer the Western Cape side to a 19-17 victory against the Blue Bulls.
April posted two of his team's three tries -- including the winning score late in the match -- and kicked two conversions to add to another score by Shane-cole Williams.
Western Province built on their strong form to defeat NWU Valke 26-8, scoring three tries to one, with Allister Williams dotting down twice.
South Western Districts defeated Golden Lions 38-24, six tries to four, in a match that featured committed attack and defence from both sides. Vernon Paulo scored a brace for SWD, while Clyde Lewis made a valuable contribution with a try and four conversions.
The Leopards defeated Griquas 17-6 in a physical fixture, the Potchefstroom team's ability to round off their chances seeing them post two tries to none.
