Shooting: Indian women's skeet team win junior world championship gold, men's team win bronze

India won their second gold of the ISSF junior world shooting championship on Friday with the women's skeet team of Areeba Khan, Raiza Dhillon and Ganemat Sekhon blanking team Italy 6-0 in the final. Israel beat Germany to win bronze. This is Ganemat's second medal of the competition after she won silver in the skeet junior women competition.

The men's team of Abhay Singh Sekhon, Ayush Rudraraju and Rajveer Gill won bronze, beating team Turkey. Italy beat out USA to take gold.

Earlier, on Thursday, Manu Bhaker had won gold in the women's 10m air pistol event. Esha Singh won silver in the same competition. Rudrankksh Patil won the silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle competition, while Ramita won bronze in the women's 10m air rifle.

India remain second in the medals tally with 2 golds, 3 silver and 2 bronze. USA leads with 3 golds, 3 silver and 1 bronze.

The competition will continue later on Saturday with six finals in Air Rifle and Air Pistol Team and Mixed Team events, all of which have Indian participation.

It'll be an all-Indian affair in the mixed team 10m air pistol gold medal match with the team of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh facing off against Shikha Narwal and Naveen. The team of Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan and Shikha Narwal have qualified for the women's team 10m air pistol gold medal match (vs. Belarus). The men's 10m air pistol team of Sarabjot, Naveen and Shiva Narwal have also qualified for their gold medal match (also vs Belarus).

The Indian pairing of Atmika Gupta and Rajpreet Singh, meanwhile have qualified for the 10m air rifle mixed gold medal match. The Indian men's 10m air rifle team of Rajpreet, Srikanth Dhanush, and Paarth Makhija will take on USA in the gold medal while the women's 10m air rifle team of Atmika, Nisha Kanwar and Zeena Khitta will tak on Hungary in their gold medal match.
