The Franchise QBs: Final rankings of the top signal-callers in Colts history

We've identified the top all-time quarterbacks for every NFL team, and asked our NFL Nation beat reporters -- and you, the fans -- to help us determine each signal-caller's place in franchise history.

What follows is the final ranking of the top quarterbacks in Indianapolis/Baltimore Colts history, both from our NFL Nation reporter and our final fan polling.

NFL Nation ranking:

1. Peyton Manning

2. Johnny Unitas

3. Andrew Luck

4. Bert Jones

5. Earl Morrall

Unitas, a 10-time Pro Bowler, easily would be sitting at the top of this list if not for Manning. A legitimate argument could be made that the Colts no longer would be in Indianapolis had they not selected Manning with the No. 1 overall pick in 1998. Manning still holds more than 30 franchise records, including most passing attempts, yards and touchdowns. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer threw for 54,848 yards and 399 touchdowns while leading Indianapolis to the playoffs 11 times and the Super Bowl twice -- winning one -- while with the team from 1998-2011. All that success played a part in the Colts opening Lucas Oil Stadium in 2008. - Mike Wells
