Odell Beckham Jr. wants to get paid.
But the New York Giants top wide receiver won't be satisfied with surpassing Antonio Brown's four-year, $68 million deal --- he wants to be the NFL's highest-paid player.
"It's like the elephant in the room, and you don't want to talk about it," Beckham said in a video posted by UNINTERRUPTED on Thursday. "I believe that I will be hopefully not just the highest-paid receiver in the league but the highest-paid, period."
Does he deserve to be? And what about the other marquee players hoping to sign lucrative long-term contracts?
Although Beckham will make just $1.8 million this season from the Giants, the 24-year-old will earn more than $10 million this year in endorsements. He is currently scheduled to make $8.459 million next year in the final year of his rookie contract.
Back in June, a source told ESPN's Jordan Raanan that when Beckham signs a new long-term deal, it will dwarf what Brown got this past offseason (think in excess of $100 million and more than $20 million per season).
The three-time Pro Bowl receiver has had at least 90 catches, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.
