Katie Boulter wins Nottingham title, beats Karolina Pliskova

Katie Boulter won the Nottingham Open women's singles title for the second straight year on Sunday, beating Karolina Pliskova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

Boulter beat fellow Brit Emma Raducanu in their semifinal, which had to be finished on Sunday morning due to rain.

Former World No.1 Pliskova made a strong start, winning the first set in Nottingham, where she won the title in 2016, before Boulter came storming back in the second.

With the crowd well behind her, Boulter, the British No. 1, held off a determined Pliskova to claim back-to-back wins in Nottingham.

The title is Boulter's second of the season after she claimed victory in San Diego in March.

Boulter was included in Team GB's tennis roster for the Paris 2024 Olympics earlier on Sunday, but Raducanu, 21, opted out of the squad as she looks to maintain her fitness and rise up the WTA rankings.
