Emma Raducanu loses Eastbourne quarterfinal to Kasatkina

Emma Raducanu was knocked out of the Eastbourne International in windy conditions on Thursday, losing 6-2, 6-2 to Daria Kasatkina in the quarterfinals.

On a high after coming from behind to beat world No. 5 Jessica Pegula on Wednesday, Raducanu couldn't mount another comeback as Kasatkina dominated to win in two sets.

While there were glimmers of hope in her performance, Raducanu couldn't build the momentum that helped her beat Pegula and Sloane Stephens earlier in the tournament.

The 21-year-old's defeat ended any hopes of a British title in the women's singles.

Katie Boulter lost to Jasmine Paolini her quarterfinal match earlier on Thursday, missing out on a spot in the semifinals.

Despite winning more matches than any other women on a grass-court this year, Boulter failed to keep up with Paolini as she lost in straight sets, 1-6, 6-7 (0-7).

World No. 7 Paolini stopped Boulter from reaching her third semifinal of the year.

Briton Harriet Dart also lost her Eastbourne quarterfinal match against Leylah Fernandez.

The former US Open finalist took the game in 70 minutes, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, as she booked her spot in the semifinals.

Elsewhere, 15-year-old Hannah Klugman lost to opponent Alycia Parks in the final round of Wimbledon qualifiers on Thursday. The teenager was hoping to become Britain's youngest ever qualifier for Wimbledon's main draw but was unable to overcome her 23-year-old opponent.

Klugman's 22-year-old British compatriot Sonay Kartal secured her spot in the Wimbledon main draw beating Erika Andreeva in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Billy Harris has secured himself a spot in the men's Eastbourne semifinals as he beat opponent Flavio Cobolli.

The British No. 5 has continued his series of wins in the tournament, sealing the game in two and a half hours.

After two tie-breaking sets the score was 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 in favour of Harris.

The Wimbledon main draw will take place on Friday.
