Coleman's 3 lifts DePaul women over No. 21 OU in OT, 111-108

CHICAGO -- Amarah Coleman hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and the Blue Demons outlasted No. 21 Oklahoma 111-108 in overtime on Monday night.

Coleman, a 5-foot-11 senior, dribbled toward the top of the key then cut to the right wing and hit a step-back shot over 6-2 Sooner guard Maddie Manning.

The last time the teams met was in the 2014 NCAA Tournament first round with DePaul winning 104-100, the highest-scoring game in tournament history. Neither team had a double-figure lead in the rematch.

Coleman, who had two of her five 3s and eight points in OT, scored 23 points to help DePaul (1-1) bounced back from a season-opening 94-88 loss to Northern Colorado that dropped the Blue Demons out of the rankings.

Ashton Millender, who had three of her five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and 21 points, missed a trey at the buzzer. Mart'e Grays added 18 points, Kelly Campbell had 16 points and 10 assists and Chante Stonewall had 16 points off the bench for DePaul, which hit 19 3-pointers.

Vionise Pierre-Louis had 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting and 16 rebounds for the Sooners (2-0). Freshman Shaina Pellington had 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting and Manning added 20.

Oklahoma shot 62 percent in the first half but only led 55-53 as DePaul made 8 of 19 3s and shot 51 percent.

While DePaul was hitting from long range (19 of 25), the Sooners pounded it inside, scoring 60 points in the paint and making 23 of 33 from the line. DePaul, outrebounded 41-33, was 12 of 13 from the line.
