Alberto Salazar has denied claims his relationship with double Olympic champion Mo Farah has broken down.

Salazar, along with Farah's training partner Galen Rupp, has been at the centre of recent doping allegations, although both deny any wrongdoing.

Farah, who has not been accused of anything illegal, has come under scrutiny after a report in the Daily Mail claimed he missed two drugs tests in the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics, where he won 5,000 and 10,000m gold.

The Briton flew to his American training base last week in order to seek answers from his coach, but returned to Europe on Wednesday - leading to speculation that he was distancing himself from Salazar. However, the coach denies that is the case.

"Mo is on a different training cycle, as he always is at this time of year," Salazar told the Oregonian newspaper. "So I send him to Europe to get accustomed to the time zone. This is how we've always done it.

"This winter Barry [Fudge, a UK Athletics official who reports Farah's progress to Salazar] administered my workouts to Mo in Ethiopia for six weeks, and Mo broke the world two-mile record."

Farah, who will return to the track at Monaco's Diamond League meet next month, has said he will stand by his coach unless he is proven to have done wrong.

And Farah's fellow British team-mate and distance runner Hannah England believes the continued speculation is beginning to ruin his reputation.

England told the Independent: "I feel it's turning into a witch-hunt against Mo. "There has been a lot of very serious allegations made in recent days and that's very newsworthy but it's like people are finding some way to bring down Mo with it.

"I think it's irresponsible that this has become such a big story without a proper explanation. It's not what people are making it seem like.

"There's just a lot of speculation going around. People are ruining Mo's reputation and ruining the sport."
