Head coach Yeng Guiao said the national squad won't have time to rest as they will begin preparation for the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers next Monday in Manila.
Guiao told reporters minutes after his team registered a 33-point win over Japan in the 2018 Asian Games on Tuesday that everyone currently playing for the Philippine squad in Jakarta are being considered for the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
The Philippines is scheduled to face Iran on September 13 in Tehran and Qatar on September 17 in Manila behind closed doors.
"All of these 12 people with us, including Don Trollano, are going to be considered and we will make that decision as soon as we get to Manila," explained the fiery mentor.
The national team registered a runaway 113-80 win over Japan behind a whirlwind second-half offensive led by Christian Standhanrdinger, who had a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson scored 22 points, while displaying his playmaking skills after finishing with nine assists.
The 59-year-old Filipino coach shared that the Fil-American Clarkson's stint in the fourth window of the World Cup qualifiers is uncertain at this point.
"We want him (Clarkson) to retun and play for us again as a member of the national team. But there are some things that have to be considered, schedules and the NBA," Guiao explained. "Before we got him to play here (Asian Games), we had to go through a lot. We have to go through those again for the national team in the next tournament. So I'm not really sure having him," he added.
Guiao said they plan to leave Indonesia after Gilas' final game this Friday against the winner of the Indonesia-Syria classification round match.
"What we're trying to do is try to get a flight right after our game (on Friday), but we're not sure if we can do that," he said.
Guiao stressed they will go all out for a win in their final game in the Asian Games to salvage fifth place.
