Last season we began this exercise. Here's how we did last season. Not terrible, but certainly some room for improvement.
We'll move forward again this offseason by making preseason picks for every single game on the Big 12 schedule. By the end of it, you'll see our full projections for each team in the Big 12 in 2013.
More Big 12 predictions for 2013.
Texas Tech 44, Texas State 17: Tech went down to San Marcos last season and played a complete game against a hyped Bobcat team. The Red Raiders look good again against the FBS newcomers and make it look easy. Big day for Eric Ward.
Louisiana Tech 24, Kansas 23: The Bulldogs have a new coaching staff and lost a ton of starters, but the new faces make enough plays to put Tech over the top. KU's James Sims goes over 100 yards, but Kenneth Dixon is too much for the Jayhawks' defense in the second half.
West Virginia 37, Maryland 31: Stefon Diggs puts on a show against the Mountaineers' secondary, but Clint Trickett and Kevin White hook up for two scores. That pushes WVU over the top for a big win.
Texas 31, Kansas State 30: Step 1 of the Longhorns trying to get over the hump in the Big 12 is beating K-State. Texas gets it done in Austin this time with a big defensive stop in the final minutes. Joe Bergeron scores twice and Malcolm Brown and Johnathan Gray rack up a combined 175 yards on a green Wildcats defensive line.
Baylor 51, Louisiana-Monroe 24: Last year's 47-42 Baylor win was a little too close for comfort, but this Baylor team is a whole lot better. A strong start and a couple turnovers from Kolton Browning in the first half give the Bears a more comfortable win against the Warhawks.
