Missouri Week 6 POWERADE baseball rankings

After games on Saturday, April 28

With about a week remaining in the regular season, games are starting to matter a little bit more with playoff seeding and positioning at stake.

Liberty remains atop the rankings, but the Bluejays might be hoping that they don't encounter Lee's Summit in the postseason. For the second time this season, Liberty lost last week and for the second time this season, it came at the hands of Lee's Summit.

Another matchup to watch is Eureka and Parkway South, who will meet twice on Tuesday and Wednesday in games that will almost certainly impact next week's top 10.

Here are this week's rankings (last week's in parentheses):

1. Liberty 17-2 (1)

Lee's Summit appears to have the Bluejays' number, as the Tigers once again handed Liberty a one-run loss last week. Before that, Class 4's top squad scored 27 combined runs in easy wins against Park Hill and Central.

2. Francis Howell Central (St. Charles) 16-4 (3)

Spartans notched two big wins against Timberland and No. 3 Vianney before falling to Fort Zumwalt West, marking their first loss in seven games. A pivotal match against Howell North looms on Tuesday.

3. Vianney (Kirkwood) 16-5 (2)

Golden Griffins ran win streak to five games before being cooled off by No. 2 Francis Howell Central in an 11-4 loss.
