NBA teams have until Oct. 31 to sign 2013 first-round picks to extensions. According to Detroit Pistons president of basketball operations and head coach Stan Van Gundy, the team is hoping to finalize new deals with starting shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and backup small forward Reggie Bullock.

Rumor Central

“We definitely have a desire to get something done with both of them,” Van Gundy told The Detroit News on Wednesday. “I think both agents are clear on that from our side. It's a matter of two things — a matter of what they want to do and a matter of, obviously, money.

During his first three years in the NBA, Caldwell-Pope is averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. In 2015-16, he put up 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Bullock has split time with the LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Pistons since the 2013-14 NBA season and during that time he's averaging 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds.

If the deadline passes without Caldwell-Pope and Bullock signing extensions, both will become restricted free agents on July 1.

“I don't anticipate any problems, but again we'll have more talk on that stuff if we get to the point that it doesn't happen. I'm still hopeful that we'll get something done. I’m optimistic," Van Gundy said.
