After three seasons playing internationally, guard Julyan Stone has an NBA offer on the table but might be forced to turn it down.

Emilio Carchia of Sportando reports that Stone has a two-year contract offer from the Charlotte Hornets, but because the guard just re-signed with his European team Reyer Venezia, he does not have an NBA opt-out.

Stone, 28, last appeared in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors in the 2013-14 season, when he played in 21 games and saw just 120 minutes of action. Since then he has played in Italy and Turkey, with time spent in the G League in between. Last season, Stone went into training camp with the Indiana Pacers but did not make their roster, spending time with their affiliate the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, where he averaged 7.9 points and 8.6 assists per game in 33 contests. He finished out the season with Reyer Venezia and was headed back there again next season.

If he ends up in Charlotte, the 6-foot-6 guard could add depth behind Kemba Walker and Michael Carter-Williams. He would likely compete with undrafted rookie T.J. Williams for a spot on the team's final roster.

Carchia reports that part of Stone's desire to return to the United States is to be closer to his sick father. It remains to be seen if Reyer Venezia will allow the move to go through, but for the time being, a return to the NBA remains on the table.
