USC pulled off a double-dip on Wednesday, landing ESPN 300 teammates wide receiver Joseph Lewis and athlete Greg Johnson.
Lewis, the nation's No. 1 wide receiver and No. 16 overall prospect, selected USC over Oregon and Nebraska. Early on in the process it looked as though Lewis would leave Los Angeles and that Nebraska could be the eventual selection, but USC did a terrific job to keep the 6-foot-2, 207-pound prospect at home.
Johnson, the nation's No. 116 prospect and No. 7 athlete, committed to Arizona early in the process before backing off and eventually selecting USC over Oregon and Nebraska.
This is the third time in eight years the Trojans have landed the nation's No. 1 wide receiver, as USC went back-to-back in the 2010 and 2011 classes with Robert Woods and George Farmer.
Lewis and Johnson attend Los Angeles' Augustus F. Hawkins High School, which is just a few miles from the USC campus, a school the Trojans hope to build a strong recruiting pipeline with. USC already holds a commitment from teammate and ESPN Junior 300 prospect Marcus Johnson -- Greg Johnson's younger brother -- and now appears to be the team to beat for wide receiver Jalen Hall, the nation's No. 2 overall prospect in the 2018 class.
