LAS VEGAS 14, FRESNO 3: Zach Lutz had a first-inning grand slam and finished with five RBIs. Juan Lagares also homered in the five-run first inning. NEW HAMPSHIRE 3, BINGHAMTON 1: Behind two late homers, New Hampshire spoiled the B-Mets' home opener. Binghamton's Josh Rodriguez doubled down the left-field line in the fourth, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored the game's opening run on a fielder’s choice from Cesar Puello. But New Hampshire starting pitcher Deck McGuire held the B-Mets to that lone run on two hits in seven innings. Binghamton starter Logan Verrett wriggled free of trouble nearly the entire night, but lost the lead after surrendering a solo homer to ex-Mets farmhand Adam Loewen in the seventh. Verrett scattered seven hits over seven innings. In the next frame, Kevin Pillar hit the game-deciding two-run homer off reliever John Church. Darrell Ceciliani and Rodriguez reached base to start the bottom of the ninth, but Fisher Cats closer Chad Beck retired the next three hitters to earn his third save. On the night, the B-Mets mustered three hits -- two from Rodriguez. Box

lastname Rivera PALM BEACH 7, ST. LUCIE 4: Starter Domingo Tapia was knocked out in the first inning, having surrendered three runs on a hit, four walks and two wild pitches while recording only two outs.
