John Scott's trade to the Montreal Canadiens has created a problem for the NHL of All-Star proportions.

The Pacific Division captain no longer plays in the Pacific Division, so what will happen All-Star weekend in Nashville, Tennessee?

The NHL released a statement Friday saying, "the league is evaluating how this trade impacts the Pacific Division roster for the 2016 All-Star Game."

Here are a few other players selected as All-Stars that were traded before All-Star weekend:

Sandis Ozolinsh, 2003 - Ozolinsh was named an Eastern Conference All-Star as a member of the Florida Panthers but was traded to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks a few days before the game. He played in the All-Star Game -- which happened to be in Sunrise, Florida -- for the East, but didn't attend the skills competition because he would have had to wear a Panthers jersey. Also, his jersey didn't have a team patch on the shoulder like the rest of the All-Stars. The league fined him an undisclosed amount for missing the skills competition.

Bob Kudelski, 1994 - Kudelski was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Panthers before the forward could represent the Senators in the All-Star Game. Kudelski still played in the game and the league added rookie Alexei Yashin to the roster to represent the Senators. Yashin scored twice in the game (including the winner), Kudelski scored twice and the East won.

Bernie Nicholls, 1990 - Nicholls was traded by the Los Angeles Kings to the New York Rangers one day before the All-Star Game when he was already in Pittsburgh for All-Star weekend. The Kings got Tomas Sandstrom and Tony Granato in return. Nicholls wasn't happy with the quality of players the Kings got in return for him or the fact that he didn't find out before traveling to Pittsburgh. Nicholls still played in the game for the Campbell Conference (the Kings' conference).
