All the teams benefiting from the high school talent in Georgia

Georgia is one of the most heavily recruited states in the country and has produced some of the top players in college football players right now, names like Clemson offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt, Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon and Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm. It's no surprise that the competition coming in to recruit the state has increased over the years, making it a very difficult state in which to recruit.

In the 2018 class, the Georgia Bulldogs made a concerted effort to reel in the top in-state prospects and fend off all outside recruiters. The Dawgs accomplished that goal, landing seven of the top-10 in-state prospects, including No. 1 overall player Justin Fields.

Coach Kirby Smart and his staff signed 10 of the 36 ESPN 300 recruits from Georgia in the 2018 class and finished with the No. 1-ranked class after the February signing period.

Georgia's 10 were the most ESPN 300 signees from the Peach State, followed by South Carolina with five, Auburn and Clemson with four, Florida with three, Florida State and Miami with two and a handful of other schools each signing one of the top prospects.

Those numbers have become more spread out in the 2019 class, as 33 of the 36 ESPN 300 prospects in Georgia have already announced their commitments, and plenty are choosing to go out of state.

Georgia still leads the way in 2019 with five ESPN 300 commitments, but Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee are close behind with four each. Alabama has three, and Ohio State, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and Texas are all holding on to two commits each.

It doesn't look like though those numbers will change much as we get closer to the early signing period, starting on Dec. 19, with only three ESPN 300s not spoken for.
