It's celebration time (again) for the Georgia Bulldogs, as they have knocked off the TCU Horned Frogs in the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship to secure their second straight title.
Led by quarterback Stetson Bennett, the Bulldogs rolled over the Horned Frogs 65-7 to become the first team since the 2011-12 Alabama Crimson Tide to win consecutive titles. Bennett finished the game with 304 passing yards, 39 rushing yards and six total touchdowns (four passing, two rushing), earning him the College Football Playoff's most outstanding player award.
Georgia's defense also deserves props for shutting down a potent TCU offense. The Bulldogs held the Horned Frogs to two third-down conversions on 11 tries and forced three turnovers.
Here are some numbers behind Georgia's thrashing of TCU in the national championship:
65: The Bulldogs scored 65 points on the Horned Frogs, the most in a BCS/CFP title game. They also tied the record for most points scored against an AP top-five team (the Oklahoma Sooners scored 65 against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in 2008).
58: Georgia's 58-point margin of victory is the biggest in any bowl game and the second largest in a matchup between AP top-five teams. The loss is the sixth-largest defeat in TCU program history.
6: Bennett did it all on Monday night, as he was responsible for six of Georgia's touchdowns, tying Joe Burrow for most in a BCS/CFP championship game.
84: For TCU, Monday's loss was a sour ending to a magical season. The defeat also extended the Horned Frogs' national championship drought to 84 seasons, the longest in college football since the beginning of the AP poll era (1936).
51 and 7: To put in perspective how lopsided the game was, Georgia ran 51 plays in its opponent's territory compared to just seven such plays for TCU.
SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles was rocking throughout the 2023 CFP title game. Here are the best sights and sounds from Monday's championship matchup.
Dawgs continue to dominate
Georgia continued its onslaught in the third quarter, adding 14 points and shutting out the Horned Frogs in the frame. The Bulldogs are up 52-7 after three.
Spectators flocked to social media to offer their analysis of the lopsided contest.

Georgia up big over TCU
It was all Bulldogs in the first half. UGA quarterback Stetson Bennett dazzled with his feet and his arm, scoring four total touchdowns (two rushing, two passing) before the break. Georgia's defense has stonewalled TCU so far, forcing three turnovers and holding the Horned Frogs to just seven points. Fans across social media chimed in with their thoughts on Georgia's dominant start.
UGA mad from last game and taking it out on TCU 🫣🫣🫣

Where is Uga?
Georgia's beloved mascot, Uga X, will not be joining the team for the national championship game.
Local news outlets in Georgia are reporting that the English bulldog will not make the trip. Its owners said that a cross-country flight would be too difficult for the 9-year-old pup to make.
