ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Reserve safety Marvin Robinson has left the Michigan Wolverines, a team spokesman confirmed to WolverineNation on Monday morning.
Robinson's departure leaves just 10 players at Michigan from the 26-member recruiting class in 2010. The 6-foot-2 Winter Haven, Fla., native was the 21st-ranked outside linebacker in his class.
Robinson primarily played safety and special teams at Michigan, where he made 21 tackles in his first three seasons. He began spring practice lining up next to senior Thomas Gordon as one of the Wolverines' starting safeties, but was in a competition for playing time with sophomore Jarrod Wilson and freshman Dymonte Thomas.
Robinson made one start in his career -- making seven tackles against Notre Dame in Michigan's first-ever home night game on Sept. 10, 2011.
Robinson is the third player to leave Michigan in the past week, joining redshirt freshman linebacker Kaleb Ringer. Robinson has one year of eligibility remaining. A message seeking comment from Robinson was not immediately returned.
Fifth-year senior linebacker Mike Jones has also left the team. He played primarily special teams.
