Kansas extends deal with Adidas through 2031

Kansas, which has worn Adidas gear since 2005, has lengthened its deal with the footwear and apparel company through 2031. An extension last year was put on hold amid an FBI investigation.

Fired coach Beaty sues Kansas over $3 million

David Beaty is suing Kansas' athletic department for $3 million he contends he is owed after he was fired in November. The school said it is withholding the money pending an NCAA investigation into possible rules violations.

Les Miles hired Les Koenning to be Kansas' offensive coordinator. Miles had to fill the vacancy after his initial hire, Chip Lindsey, took the head coaching job at Troy. Koenning has been an OC at several Power 5 schools including Mississippi State (2009-13), Texas A&M (2003-07) and Alabama (2001-02). He was the running backs coach at Southern Miss the last two seasons.

Sources: Troy expected to hire Kansas OC Lindsey

Chip Lindsey, who joined Kansas as its offensive coordinator last month, is expected to be named head coach at Troy, sources told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg. He replaces Neal Brown, who moved on to West Virginia last week.

ESPN sources: Kansas offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey is expected to be named the next head coach at Troy. Football Scoop first reported the move. Lindsey joined the Kansas staff last month after spending the last two seasons as Auburn's offensive coordinator. He returns to his native Alabama, where he began his career as a longtime high school coach. Troy also considered Tulane offensive coordinator Will Hall, Louisiana-Lafayette defensive coordinator Ron Roberts and Ole Miss linebackers coach Jon Sumrall for the job.

A woman says Kansas running back Pooka Williams punched her in the stomach and grabbed her by the throat in a Dec. 5 incident, according to an arrest affidavit. Williams, suspended from the team, has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery.

Sources: Ex-Kansas coach David Beaty will not be in Austin this week helping Texas prepare for the Big 12 title game. He'll remain at his home in Kansas. He will speak with Longhorns coach Tom Herman over the phone to give his thoughts on the game, but the two have talked regularly throughout the season about certain teams. They're good friends. This isn't really out of the ordinary, I'm told.
