Seymour commits to the Trojans

The USC Trojans added a big defensive piece to their recruiting class Saturday afternoon, as cornerback Kevon Seymour (Pasadena, Calif./Muir) committed to the Trojans during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Seymour had been thought to be a USC lean ever since Trojans coach Lane Kiffin and his staff offered the two-way standout during the spring. But USC needed to hold off strong pushes from UCLA, California and Oregon to land Seymour, who stands 5-foot-11, 170 pounds and has the ability to push for playing time early in his USC career.

During the recruiting process, Seymour developed a strong bond with several players on the team, including fellow cornerback Torin Harris, as well as the young receivers he will be matching up against in practice. Offensive coordinator Kennedy Polamalu deserves plenty of credit for landing Seymour as well, as he led the charge for the top cornerback in the area.
