That was a disappointing performance with the bat from Pakistan as the newbies couldn't weather the storm from the quicks in the powerplay and found the conditions extremely tough, tottering at 11/4 at the end of the fifth over. There was a bit of recovery from Salman Agha and Khushdil Shah but they got out after getting decent starts. New Zealand were clinical in their execution with the ball, nailing their lines and lengths and feasted on bowling-conducive conditions. The hosts will look to chase it down quickly and the only chance Pakistan has of making it an interesting contest is by taking quick wickets in clusters and make early inroads

Hassan Shah: "The new-look Pakistan team is facing challenging conditions, but they should remain calm and not panic. It's crucial that the batters assess the conditions first before making their moves. In this match, they've made things harder for themselves by not evaluating the pitch initially and instead going after the bowlers without caution."
