5.40pm The captains have spoken, the Man of the Match has spoken, we will talk for weeks, this has been a great Test thanks to these two spirited sides. Thanks for joining us for this great Test. We will see you soon. On the 14th. Basin Reserve it will be. This is Sidharth Monga signing off
"Definitely nervous times," Brendon McCullum, who is also the Man of the Match, says. "That run chase. They put us under immense amount of pressure. Neil Wagner's spell today epitomised everything that is going well with the side. A great Test to be part of. One that we will remember. We had to overcome tough periods when batting. Managed partnerships. Got a big score, above par.
"After not enforcing the follow-on, we didn't play well, but their bowling was exceptional too. Would have loved to have a few more in the bank. One of those ones. Everyone has got their own opinion. You have to make that decision. You live and die by that decision. Thankfully we are living by it. You take all inputs from the bowlers, and then make the decision. At 220 for 3 it wasn't looking that great, but we showed enough fight.
"Neil is brilliant. He never wants an opportunity to pass him by. His role is to bowl a lot of overs, and hostile overs. Gives Tim and Trent opportunity to attack. He has thoroughly deserved his wickets. He has turned this game.
"One of my best innings in an NZ shirt. Delighted to make a significant contribution. A lot of credit must go to those who formed partnerships with me. A Test victory over this Indian team is no small achievement."
"The bowlers bowled fantastically well to get us back," says MS Dhoni "I don;t think we batted really well in the first innings. Second innings, quiet a few of our batmen batted really well. One of the best that I have seen our bowlers bowl. Especially on a good wicket. They kept it tight, bowled wicket-taking deliveries at the same time. They need to continue doing that. When you go and not look at what you want to achieve at the end, you can slowly graduate into bigger goals. A few unlucky wickets. Ajinkya's decision was a tough one at a very crucial time."
5.30pm This is an evening when you finish your work, grab a cold one, sit by the pitch, and look around and quietly thank the surroundings for providing us a great Test. The two teams too. Umpires, maybe. No need to talk to anybody for an hour at least
5.25pm Still coming to terms with what a great Test we have had. Just for that we need to thank McCullum for not enforcing the follow-on. What a spirited fight from India, though. They nearly became the first team ever to win a Test after conceding 300 deficit, Tests that ended naturally I mean
5.20pm What a finish. Catch your collective breaths everybody. This has been another epic Test match. New Zealand go on what seems like a lap of honour. How relieved he will be after they messed it up yesterday
Let's listen to Wagner: "Awesome. I am absolutely out of breath, to be honest. Amazing feeling. One of the best of my career. Honoured to be part of this. Plan was to be patient and execute well for long period of times. Boys always kept fighting. Kept running in. We all fought hard. The Dhawan wicket was crucial. Then with Boulty with the second new ball. He always does that. Timmy and Trent, a lot of credit to them. A lot of guys - a lot of Indians shouting stuff at me - so wanted to show how much it means [when he did a chest puff after taking the fourth wicket]"
