46.5 and now Lakmal has a wicket, all three quicks have been very disciplined today and Manzoor seemed to be in a giving mood as he poked at one outside off stump. He's been suspect on the back foot when he has had to defend, although his cuts were quite strong. And this time Lakmal gets one to move just enough to snare the outside edge 118/5
9.3 full, straight and swinging steeply in and combine that with Shehzad's lack of footwork and Pradeep has the first wicket. He offers a lazy drive on the up but the ball had already swung well enough to miss the front pad and ram into the back one. As plumb as any the umpires would have to make in this game 28/1
27.5 133 kph, another indipper from Pradeep and he finds success again! Top of off takes a pounding as Hafeez presents a big gap between bat and pad while going for a loose drive. The ball wasn't there for the stroke, even if Pradeep had kept it on a fullish length. He should have been wary of Pradeep's ability to bring the ball back, but he seemed a little too casual there, driving with no feet 78/2
38.1 he's been doing that a couple of times but was lucky enough to get some runs off those. Not this time. It was length, it was well wide of off stump. But Younis goes chasing after it and edges through to the keeper, who dives to his right and picks up a smart catch with both hands. Oh, but wait, amid all the celebrations the umpires want to check the no-ball. All is good though and Eranga has a wicket 107/3
40.1 I stand corrected, Misbah is gone now. Excellent line just outside off lures Misbah into a little defensive push, but all he gets is an outisde edge to the keeper and cue wild celebrations. Straight forward catch to the keeper 109/4
50.2 Lakmal has another and it's that man, Kaushal Silva again! Goes for an ill-advised drive on the up and has to perish as the man at short cover dives low to his left and picks up a smart catch 127/6
53.4 caught behind after being completely squared up! it was full and angling in on middle and leg, which made Sarfraz want to play through midwicket as he closed the face of the bat. But the ball straightens and claims the outside edge to go through to the keeper. Absolute peach that from Pradeep 129/7

57.2 Kaushal Silva again, do not hit the ball in his direction, Pakistan! Ajmal looked to turn the flighted ball on leg stump through square leg, but Silva at short leg sticks his right hand out while staying quite low and snares another impressive grab 151/8
57.6 and that's two in the over for Herath, but Rahat has gone for the review. Speared in on middle and Rahat plays outside the line. Hit on the edge of front pad and then on the back one. There is no bat involved and the ball would go on with the angle and would crash into middle stump says HawkEye. 151/9
63.5 there it is, Herath has him and Pakistan are done. But Junaid wants a review. It was the quicker ball and Junaid was playing down the wrong line as this strikes him plumb in front of the stumps, though he was on the front foot. In fact, the Sri lanka fielders were so confident that they were already on their way to the change rooms before the third umpire had made his verdict 165/10

10.6 jags back alarmingly and strikes Karunaratne on the back pad. He was on his toes and was a touch late on his defensive push. The ball rams onto the knee-roll just about on off stump, possibly outside, but umpire Oxenford judges it to be out. Karunaratne reviews it though. It wasn't high enough to miss the stumps, and HawkEye says impact is umpire's call. Seemed a reasonable review, but he has to go 40/1
77.5 no century for Kaushal as he is struck in front of the stumps. He goes for the review nonetheless, considering he is on 95 and is searching for his maiden ton. It was tossed up on middle and he goes for a sweep, but misses it completely. Struck low on the front pad and that would have crashed into leg stump 227/4
21.1 and it's worked! He's trapped in front of the stumps! A cursory glance at his partner to see if that needed to be referred, but no luck there. It was pretty plumb as Rahat kept it full. Sanga had planted his front foot on off stump and had to bring his bat around it to complete the flick shot. Couldn't do it and fell over. Struck low on the pad on off stump, easy decision for S Ravi 75/2
26.3 the bouncer does Chandimal in! Junaid almost looks bemused at how easily that plot has worked. He shouldn't be, because that was a very good short ball. Or wait, he might have been a little peeved that the fielder at long leg almost spilled a simple catch. Nothing of that sort happened though. He had no room to play the hook, but wen't for it and the top-edge goes straight to the only fielder there 88/3
123.3 Ajmal has a wicket here! It's been 77.2 overs since he picked up his last one and he has a lovely smile on his face. Mahela went for the reverse sweep, but the ball was too full and was also on middle, so he had to drag it away. Isn't successful and he has to walk off. Not too happy about his shot selection, but he's played a magnificent innings here 365/8
107.2 he's gone! Edged to the keeper! Sarfraz had to dive to his right and this time he clings on. Touch of seam movement outside off and that draws Mathews into a false stroke. Squared him up there, too good for Mathews 320/5
116.3 133 kph, bowled him! Straightened just enough to knock off the top of off stump. Prasanna was late on the shot and had a bit of gap between bat and pad. Junaid screams in delight at the sight of the broken stumps and Pakistan have got two wickets inside the first hour. The 341/6
117.2 how silly is that? And Mahela is none too happy about it either. Herath has gifted his wicket away while looking for an non-existant single. He nudged it away towards the leg side and set off straight away, but he was so slow doing that. Even slower turning back when a bewildered Mahela says no but Rahat had rushed forward, grabbed the ball and broke the stumps direct. 348/7
126.5 141 kph, dragged on and Bhatti has his first. It was shortish and only a touch outside off stump. The cut shot was not on, but Eranga goes for it in the search for quick runs and has to perish 377/9

133.6 this one is as plumb as it can get, but Pradeep goes for the review. Pitched on and around off stump and strikes him just below the knee-roll right in front of middle. HawkEye says it would go on to hit middle of leg stump 388/10

7.5 138 kph, ripper! Manzoor nicks off to the keeper, Pradeep is leaping about it joy as he should! It was a good length ball, angled in but it straightens after pitching just enough to catch the faintest of outside edges. No review from the batsman as he walks off forlornly. Wouldn't have been able to do much about that, just too good a ball 19/3
2.5 he's done it! Penultimate ball before lunch and Shehzad is gone! Sri Lanka are absolutely over the moon as this one grips and turns. The batsman was coming forward to block it away, but the ball takes the outside edge and the keeper takes a sharp catch and exults animatedly. Big blow for Pakistan as the players head off to lunch 11/1
3.3 this time he nicks off! Probing line just outside off and Hafeez poked at it. A healthy outside edge results and the keeper makes no mistake. Full enough to draw the batsman forward and he just hung his bat out there. Poor shot from a top order batsman 12/2
59.1 There it is! Younis loses his concentration and nicks off! It was short and outside off stump, not quite the ball a set batsman would succumb to. He was enticed by the width and goes for a cut shot with all his might, but the result is an outside edge which is pouched by a gleeful Prasanna Jayawardene behind the stumps and Lakmal rejoices. That was the wicket Sri Lanka so badly wanted 148/4
95.3 turns off the straight and takes out Misbah's off stump. The Pakistan dressing room is thunderstruck! Just when it seemed like he had the spinner's number, Herath produces an unplayable one. Angled in and pitched on middle, grips the wicket and turns right past Misbah's outside edge to take out the off stump 245/6
81.3 the new ball does the trick and Shafiq has edged to second slip! Pokes at a good length ball outside off with hard hands and perishes. The seam away a touch, but that was more the batsman's mistake. Sri Lanka are overjoyed and Eranga gets his first for the second innings 200/5
127.4 the off stump is taken out! Absolute peach to knock off the top of off and Lakmal pulls out the finger on the lips celebration. He's been generating considerable inswing off the pitch and this time Sarfraz was cut in half as he was lunging forward to defend. Ball sneaks between bat and pad and then timber! 334/8
116.6 he's gone here, Bhatti is absolutely disconsolate. He does not want to leave the park, but he has to. His stumps are disturbed. Gets the inswinging yorker bang on and Bhatti did well to jam his bat down in line with it. Only the ball bounces up and knocks down the bails even as Bhatti tried to prevent it 312/7
137.3 fittingly Lakmal takes the final wicket and he may have done some damage to Ajmal's left toe. Big inswinging yorker again and it hit Ajmal flush on the left foot and ricochets onto the stumps. Handy little innings from Ajmal comes to an end. 359/10
135.3 pokes outside off and Rahat has to walk. That's Prasanna's fifth catch behind the stumps. Back of a length outside off, should have been left alone, but Rahat has not given much evidence of having the discipline to do so. Healthy outside edge and easily taken 354/9
