Pakistan make a clean sweep of all the matches on tour. On expected lines. They were pushed close in this game but Bangladesh just fell short of holding on to a draw.
The first session belonged entirely to the hosts but it all went downhill from there. Another session of domination would have firmly shut the match away from Pakistan and Bangladesh would have earned a respectable draw.
They can take heart from the partnership between Shakib and Nafees after they were 3 down for nothing. They managed to score 300-plus after a no-show in Chittagong. Nasir Hossain is a find, Elias Sunny posed a lot of questions with his left-arm spinners. There are positives.
Pakistan, if you ask me, are in a very good position to take the series against England if they continue this way. Lots to feel good about. It will be a competitive series no doubt, but I'd put my money on Pakistan to win. A lot has been said about their scoring rate in this Test, but I guess it's irrelevant. I'd still like to see Umar Akmal though. The presentation is coming up:
Shakib is the Man of the Match:Hopefully we will improve. We have two months to improve on many things before the Asia Cup. Personally I'm satisfied with my form."
Younis is the Man of the Series: It's hardto play back to back series but in the end it was a happy ending. Bangladesh are improving, all they need is to play more Tests and stick with the same guys."
Mushfiqur: "The bowlers did a very good job. This is one of the games in which we couldn't catch properly. After a bad defeat in the first Test the guys showed a lot of character. Nasir also batted really well."
Misbah: "The players are understanding their roles in Test cricket and that is helping us. The players, management is responding well. Bangladesh did well to put together partnerships and they gave us a tough time in this Test."
That's it from us. Thanks for your mails and your company. The cricket never stops. Join us soon. Cheers!
