13.5 full, swinging back in, and Tremlett has his man! The bowler went very full, practically a yorker, and Paranavitana was beaten by late movement through the air and struck on the back pad in front of middle. An early wicket for England, just as the dark clouds roll over the ground once more! 23/2
12.4 this time it's full, finds the edge of a slightly loose drive and a very simple catch for Strauss at first slip! Thirimanne's maiden innings showed promise but he'll be disappointed with the shot to get out 23/1
16.6 gone! Edged and caught behind! That's a really poor short from a good batsman. The ball is hooping around on a pitch with a greenish tinge, and he needlessly flings the bat out at a wide one. The shot of a distracted man? The ball took a healthy edge and nestled in Prior's gloves, and Sri Lanka sink deeper at 29 for 3 29/3
23.1 Tremlett gets his man again! Jayawardene gone and Sri Lanka in trouble. Top delivery it was too, seaming away from back of a length, flicking the shoulder of the bat and Prior moved swiftly to his right to snaffle the chance 39/4
39.6 Tremlett gets a third! Having judged the last ball well Samaraweera was done by a fuller ball. Driveable length, lured the shot but swung away enough to catch and edge and fly to Pietersen at the gully who made no mistake 89/5
58.2 gone! Swann strikes with his second delivery! Prasanna was looking to be aggressive straight away, slog-sweeping a looping offspinner out to deep midwicket ... but only as far as Eoin Morgan's waiting hands. He'd done so much good work against the quicks in seaming conditions, that's a disappointing way to end what was turning into a really good knock 158/8
41.6 gone this time! Prior holds an excellent take and you have to feel that was coming. Perera didn't look like he fancied this innings at all. Another short ball, another aimless hack across the line, the top edge went high to Prior who managed to hold on to a difficult take 91/6
47.1 Tremlett has five! The ball spat off an awkward length to catch Herath mid-swivel as he tried to pull, a top edge looping easily to James Anderson at fine leg. 117/7

59.1 and he strikes straight away! A sixth wicket for Chris Tremlett, who sent down a well-directed bouncer that kissed the glove as Lakmal tried to hook - eyes firmly shut - and flew through to Prior. Sri Lanka folding now, and Tremlett reaping full reward for some great bowling 166/9
64.2 that is that, Broad gets a wicket as Welegedara drives straight to cover...that will boost Broad after a tough innings 184/10

2.2 gone! Strauss's problems continue as he pushes forward and edges a regulation chance to first slip. Perfect start for Sri Lanka, nicely bowled from Welegedera but Strauss didn't need to play 4/1
30.3 gone! Samaraweera holds a good catch at the second attempt in the gully. Full and wide and Cook reached for a drive, thick edge flew to gully who jumped, parried the chance, but grasped it eventually to send Cook on his way 120/3
7.3 the angle works the treat! Trott has gone! Pushed across at a drive-me length, Trott accepts the invitation to drive but the angle finds a faint edge through to the keeper 14/2
46.3 edged, and gone! Pietersen's patience finally wore thin and he lunged into an extravagant drive to a full, wide delivery that left him off the pitch. Reward for Perera, he gets his first Test wicket and it's a big one. 191/4

57.4 that's the end of Anderson's fun...Welegedara drags the length back and it finds the outside edge as Anderson jabs outside off 236/5
90.5 Morgan is walking, he charged down the track, looking to make room and slam a angled ball through extra cover, seemed to have got a snick through to Prasanna, and promptly walked off, Sri Lanka did not have to put up a hand in appeal 373/6
91.2 that is the end of Prior, had to go for it really, shortish and a touch wide, he went for the cut right away, but found point who held on to a sharp high catch 374/7
92.4 Broad goes, that short ball has got him, he was expecting it, had set himself up for the pull, it arrived outside off but he still went through with the shot and only managed to find deep square leg, and that is the declaration from Andrew Strauss 377/8

12.1 Anderson provides the breakthrough! Paranavitana had to play at this, but it just left him off the pitch, taking the shoulder of the bat and flying low to Graeme Swann's left at second slip. Sri Lanka's opening pair had done so well, but the odds are stacked against them in conditions like this 25/1
37.6 edged, and gone! Tremlett finally gets his reward, again the line was just perfect, pitching middle, middle-and-off and seaming away. Thirimanne pressed forward - he had to play - and the ball took a thick edge, seemingly hovering in the air for an age before it was plucked by Strauss. Easy catch, and he made no mistake. Will this give England an opening? 86/2
101.6 slower ball does the trick! Sangakkara falls for a magnificent 119. In the end, it was a tame dismissal, driving loosely to point but really he's all but saved this game and turned around his record in England 326/5
45.4 gloved through to Prior, and Broad strikes! Well, actually that's hit the shoulder of the bat. Either way, great delivery. It did indeed come in off the pitch, and Mahela had to play a shot. The bat came down late, extra bounce meant the edge flew through at a very catchable height 110/3
66.3 ah, the fun ends for Herath and England finally have their breakthrough. The shot wasn't a great one, hacking across the line, missing and being struck in front. Just like his second innings Cardiff dismissal. Still, he's played very well 185/4
