5.4 he's gone, the move to open with Hafeez pays off, it was a straight one from Hafeez, Smith was searching for the spin as he defended off the front foot, the ball slips past the inside-edge and that hits the offstump 15/1
79.4 Ajmal gets another, this one was not the doosra, Simmons stretches well forward, it pitched on offstump, turned in to hit on the pads between middle and off, struck low as well, no bat involved, there's no doubt about that, going on to hit middle, Simmons played well but will have to wait for his maiden Test half-century 175/8
33.3 Riaz has struck, that's the end of Bravo, who was looking to play the ball towards square leg, it was a full ball that was swinging in, hit him low on the pad in front of middle and leg, hang on, it's time for the review, the doubt is over whether that ball was going on hit leg, or whether it was sliding down, there was no bat involved, it hit just about the ankle, and the replay shows the ball was going on to hit legstump, the end of Bravo's resistance 71/2
54.1 big caught behind appeal, keeper is absolutely convinced, umpire isn't, Sarwan went for the cut to a wide ball, did it take the under-edge? time for another review, like at the World Cup, there is no HotSpot or Snicko, so it will be difficult to overturn the decision. Well, what do I know? the umpire has given it out 127/3
71.3 Ajmal is off on a celebratory run, no one can take the grin off his face, he's got the big wicket of Chanderpaul, its that doosra again, this one pitches on a length outside off and spins in a long way, Chanderpaul was looking to defend off the front foot, the ball sneaks past the inside edge and crashes into middle and off, can West Indies at least make it to 200 after choosing to bat 162/7
57.1 the end of Nash, this one slides on after pitching on offstump, this one doesn't turn away after pitching there, it was the doosra, it spun in and comfortably beats the bat, Nash was caught on the back foot, and was struck low on the pad, easy call for the umpire, Pakistan chipping away here 136/4
61.4 Ajmal wins, it was only a matter of time, Baugh's been given lbw, it's being reviewed, and that is plumb, absolutely plumb, no clue why that was referred, length ball, pitched on middle, and was going on to hit middle and off, hit him low on the pads, Baugh's misery is over, he really did looked helpless against Ajmal, and he's wasted a review as well 142/5
68.6 oh dear, oh dear, Darren Sammy is going to have to answer plenty of questions after this, a length ball on leg stump, Sammy wants to muscles this one out of the ground as well, sadly for him he only manages to scoop this high in the air, Umar Akmal gets under it at mid-on and safely takes the catch 159/6
97.6 It's taken eight overs today, but Pakistan have finally ended the innings. Ajmal has five, and he's bowled really well. He's finished it off with a tidy offbreak that spun more than Roach accounted for. He was forward and groping with hard hands, it took the inside egde, onto the pad, and into short leg's hands. 226/10
86.2 another lbw, Rampaul is gone, that pitches on middle and off, on a length, Rampaul plays down the wrong line, it sneaks past the inside-edge, that was going on to hit middle, a frustrating stand is broken by Hafeez 198/9

1.2 bowled him! West Indies have struck early and the in-form Hafeez is on his way. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do with that ball. It landed back of a length outside off and held its line, may be moved away marginally. Hafeez got half across and then decided to leave. He was weaving the bat away, but an instant too late, and it hit the inside edge to crash into the castle. 5/1
22.2 Another one angles into the pads, Umar misses it and is hit on the pads. He's given lbw and has referred it immediately. Sammy's worked on this leg and middle line in the last few overs, and this time Umar's a little lazy with the hands as he looks to work it across. The front foot is too far across and he looks to play round the pads. Would have been better off defending with a straight bat. That hit in front of middle and off, and was clipping leg. Good enough. Umar goes, and with him Pakistan lose a review. 57/2

26.4 clatter. Shades of Michael Clarke in the 2007 World Cup. It's a back of a length ball on off stump, holding its line and nipping in a touch since Sammy rolled his fingers over it. Very friendly pace. The sort of ball you push back down the track. We all thought Azhar would do the needful. What did he do? He shouldered his arms. He surely didn't know where his off stump was. A moment later, it was straightened. Weird as they come. Sammy's nipped out two big wickets. 62/4
25.1 Bishoo, take a bow! What a wicket to get as your first one in Tests, and what a lovely, lovely ball! It's the flipper from Bishoo, he's not bowled it so far today, and slips it in completely without warning. It is landed just short of a length on middle and Misbah leans back languidly to cut. Mistake. The ball torpedoes straight towards middle stump and Misbah's pad is in the way. As they say, couldn't have been plumber if he works with pipes and taps. Well done, Bishoo and this Test match is crackling now. 60/3
27.6 lbw appeal turned down, and referred after a delay. Flat legspinner, pushed across towards leg stump and it straightens into Shafiq quickly. He is forward and looks to defend with bat and pad close together. The ball thudded into his pad, and on first sight it looked like it must have either been landing outside leg stump, or heading down the leg side. And then the replays come on. It landed on leg. And it was hitting leg, 3-4ths of the way up! Bowden reverses his decision and gives him the crooked finger. Pakistan have lost half their side! 66/5
53.6 the story of Umar Akmal's career. What a tragedy.. So much promise, mingled with so much needless petulance. Bishoo's struck with one of his more ordinary balls. It's dropped quite short, on off stump line and breaking away. A rush of blood into Akmal's head, and he goes for the extravagant pull. Mistake. Top edge. Balloons up. Goes nowhere. Baugh's gloves cradle it when it comes down. See you later, Umar Akmal. 130/7
35.1 Given lbw by Bowden, and Salman reviews it. Bishoo is wreaking havoc on debut. His angle, from wide of the crease, is creating a lot of problems, since he's getting the legbreaks to straighten rather than go away. The Pakistanis have struggled to get used to that technicality. This one angles in and lands on off and straightens. Salman fronts up for a half-cock defensive with bat and pad together. Bat was waiting for it to turn away, and it did not. It went straight and thudded into the pads. Would have hit top of off. Bishoo wins the battle of the debutants. 80/6

56.2 another one bites the dust. Pakistan are 'pulling' themselves into trouble. This was probably not short enough, but it was slanting down the leg side. Should Gul have been glancing instead? He was on the front foot, and then wanted to pull himself back, and then went for the pull despite not being in any position to play the shot and got a top edge that bobbed up and landed in Baugh's gloves easily. Trouble for Pakistan here. First-innings runs are going to be crucial on this track. 135/8
58.5 Lbw appeal turned down by Tony Hill, and Sammy refers it. First call - I thought that was plumb. It's one of Rampaul's regulation balls that come in with his skiddy angle. Ajmal got half forward and tried to defend it as it landed outside off and came in. Could not get bat on it. Hit in front of off, and that was taking out leg stump. Pakistan are nine down. 141/9
64.4 Roach has finished them off with a gem of a delivery. Angles in from wide of the stumps and straightens from outside off, inviting Riaz to drive and then squaring him up to take the edge. Only worry was whether it carried to the keeper, and it did. WI lead by 66. Crucial. 160/10

1.1 One ball! That's all it took for Hafeez to send back his bunny. Oh boy, he just can't play him! This borders on the bizarre. Tossed up delivery from round the stumps. Lands on off. Does nothing. Holds its line and goes on. Smith prods forward with the kind of confidence Muttiah Muralitharan the batsman, would have if he were facing Muttiah Muralitharan, the bowler. No luck. Misses the line. Hit in front of middle and off. It is clipping leg. Ridiculous! 3/1
14.2 Riaz makes the breakthrough, the in-form Simmons is gone, Riaz sticks to the shortish length, Simmons looks to defend off the back foot, a limp attempt sees the ball pop to Azhar Ali at short leg, who need two attempts to safely pouch it, 20 minutes into the day and West Indies have already lost two wickets 47/4
7.3 Bravo is gone. Ajmal's done him in with a sharp offbreak. Delivered from slightly wide of the crease, from round the wicket, it landed on middle and off, and straightened just enough to head straight towards middle. Bravo was caught on the back foot, and was late to turn the wrists. Plumb enough to convince him not to refer it. 13 wickets have fallen today, and we aren't done yet! 23/2
11.5 decision review after Roach is given lbw, pitching on a length and outside off, Roach tries to block off the back foot, the ball spins past his bat, hit just above the knee roll on his left leg, umpire gives it, the replay confirms it, shows it was going to hit leg 35/3
21.2 big, big wicket here, that one climbs sharply from Ajmal, shortish ball pitching outside off and turns a long way towards middle stump, Sarwan stayed on the crease, standing tall to play it, but it got too big on him, off the glove as he tries to defend, and goes to the waiting Asad Shafiq at square leg 59/5

26.1 oh dear, terrible luck for the West Indies, Nash is gone to a run-out! it was a length ball from Gul that was helped down to fine leg, Chanderpaul who would have had to run to the danger end wanted the second, Nash had ambled the first one and didn't want it, he takes a few steps out of the crease and as he turns back to return to safety, he tumbles and falls over, throw is good and Nash is gone, what a way to lose a wicket, as if the pitch wasn't treacherous enough 74/6
31.3 oh my god, Demond Haynes give this man a dressing down, what was Baugh doing? a fullish ball that Baugh decides to slog to the leg side, he can only hit it as far as midwicket, where Umar Akmal takes a low catch, wickets continue to fall like extras in a slasher movie 86/7
36.6 another review, Sammy is given lbw almost immediately by the umpire, this one pitches on off and goes on with the angle, past the bat and onto pad, that was hitting near the top of middle, replays confirm there is no inside-edge, which is the only thing that could have saved Sammy 99/8
39.6 this time there' s no need for the apostrophes around catch as Azaher pouches one at short leg, Ajmal has ten, what a performance this has been, it was the doosra that did the job once more, Rampaul looked to defend, the turn meant there was an inside-edge, onto the pad and lobs up to short leg, Tony Hill says "you gotta go" 104/9
61.5 that's the end of the innings, another loopy ball, Bishoo looks to drive off the front foot, he might have survived that as well, through Umar Akmal's hands first time, on his chest, and then takes it on the second attempt, Ajmal has his sixth, Pakistan need 219 to win 152/10

2.2 big, big appeal for lbw, turned down, long discussion whether to take the review, they finally decide to take it, pitches short of a length and outside off, jags in a big way, hits the batsman on the thigh on the back leg, that looked to be going over at first sight, but Hawk-Eye says that is going to hit middle and leg, ,mayhem in Providence, West Indies are cock-a-hoop, music in the stadium 2/3
1.3 Rampaul has struck in his first over once again, Umar is gone lbw, he chats with Hafeez about asking for the review, he decides against it, that pitched short of a length, on middle and leg, and would have gone on to hit off, but that struck him near the top of the pad, height might have been a question there 2/1
1.5 this time he edges, Providence goes crazy, as does Rampaul and the rest of the West Indies team, this was shorter than the previous one, impeccable line though, slight away movement, Azhar Ali is drawn towards that one, nicks it through to the keeper, W 0 W is the last three deliveries from Rampaul, that was a superb ball from Rampaul 2/2

38.4 ripper from Rampaul, this is not a good sign for Pakistan, he bowls Shafiq with a gigantic incutter, pitching around a length outside off, comes in viciously, Shafiq looks to defend that, but he has no chance as the ball zips past the bat and pad gap and crashes into the top of middle 83/4
56.3 captain removes captain, or does he? referral time, big lbw appeal that was upheld by Bowden, height seems to be a problem here as it hit him well over the knee roll, though there wasn't too big a stride forward, no bat involved, pitching short of a length and outside off, comes in and replays show that was taking the top of middle 135/5

70.3 that's pretty much the game for West Indies, Sammy is away on a celebratory run, the lbw count keeps spiralling, his stump-to-stump line working wonders here, as usual it pitched back of a length and came in, Akmal looked to defend off the front foot, it sneaks past the bat and hits the pad in front of off and middle, there's no doubt about this one, and he couldn't have reviewed it anyway, Sammy has four wickets, well, well, well, who'd thunk that? 166/9
56.5 Sammy is doing it for the West Indies, another wicket for him, the critics can take that, it was another short of length ball angling in, hit him low in front of middle, and that was going on to take out middle, Salman was looking to defend down the track, played down the wrong line, ball moves in and past the bat, West Indies ahead at this stage 135/6
67.6 taken at second slip, or was it? Rehman doesn't think it was, he's sticking around, umpires are conferring, it was an overpitched ball outside off, Rehman looks to squeeze that one past slips, only gets it as far as Devon Smith at second slip, from the replays I'd say that is a clean catch, but what does Asoka de Silva say? he wants more replays, and finally Asoka makes the right call, gives Rehman out, Smith finally makes an impact against the spinners 160/7
68.6 he may not be hitting the high 80-mph mark, but Sammy is proving really effective here, Gul asks for a review after being given lbw, it was the typical short of length Sammy delivery that angles in, hit him in front of middle and leg, just above the knee roll, replays show it was going to hit leg, Gul has to go, he has a rueful grin on his face, perhaps he thought he edged that as he looked to clip it to square leg, in any case Pakistan have no more reviews remaining 163/8
