Match Referee

Shahid Afridi put up a typically brutal show to get Pakistan into the game but it was too little and too late to hide the dismal performance of the top order. Once again, they collapsed in a heap and left the lower middle order with too much too do. South Africa were clinical and efficient.

Man of the Match: AB de Villiers.

That's it from me, Sriram Veera. Now .. to the Rugby final on Saturday. Alvida!

Botha to Iftikhar Anjum, 1 run, OUT, Game over. SA have won. Rao went down the track, drove to long-off and turned blind for the second. He was sent back by Gul but slipped as he turned back. Botha did the final rites and SA have taken the first ODI.

Botha to Umar Gul, 1 run, tossed-up, outside off, slog swept to wide midwicket. Ntini didn't pick it up in the fading light and it drops short of him

Morkel to Shahid Afridi, OUT, Afridi is gone. Pakistan's hopes sink. Full pitched on the stumps, Afridi backed away and heaved it straight to long-on. Gone. What a fab innings it was though. Brutal, as ever, and he did scare a few South Africans.
