END OF OVER:
64 | 4 Runs | SA: 161/5

  • AB de Villiers4 (6b)
  • Ashwell Prince59 (141b)
  • Danish Kaneria28-9-52-2
  • Shahid Nazir9-1-42-1

So, that's it then. South Africa have ground out the victory here, and with it they take the series. AB de Villiers runs over to Prince, gives him a hug and South Africa start the celebrations. It's been a closely fought match, series and it was fitting that even today was a big test for both sides, but Kallis and Prince proved the difference, doing exceptionally well with their 117-run partnership that made sure of the win. That's your lot, your last day of Test cricket for a good three months as attentions now turn to the World Cup.

Jacques Kallis has been named the Man of the Series. "It is pleasing," he confirmed.

Thanks for joining me (Jenny), Gnasher McGlashan, Siddhartha V and Andrew the Miller throughout this game, and we hope you've enjoyed the series.

Osman Samiuddin's verdict on the thirdand final day at Cape Town

South Africa gained their second Test series success of the season, but the five-wicket margin doesn't tell the whole story of the third and final day at Cape Town

  • Woolmer attacks workload

The packed international calendar has again been blamed for a team's Test series loss with Bob Woolmer, Pakistan's coach, criticising a "ridiculous" schedule

  • Woolmer surprised at tumbling wickets

On the first day Pakistan were bowled out for 157 with Makhaya Ntini and Jacques Kallis getting four wickets each. South Africa batted for the 39 overs remaining in the day and lost five wickets
