5.10pm You want abject? You want abysmal? You got 27.2 overs of it. Another limp batting performance from Pakistan, their approach was flawed, planning wrong and execution appalling. It all culminated in a terrible batting display from Pakistan as they were bowled out for 74, losing by 183 runs to also surrender the series in meek fashion.
New Zealand are very rarely indisciplined. Like always, they started well again today, and some lateral movement helped. But Pakistan's block-block-hit approach just won't work, and it showed today. There will be two dead rubbers to come, as New Zealand take the series as quickly as they can.
Trent Boult is the Man of the Match: "Pretty windy today, the wind was behind me today. Collective effort. Wanted to get the series done, knew we had to fight hard with only 250 on the board."
Sarfraz Ahmed: "A tough loss, batting was again flop. We will sit together and sort it out. The problem is the new ball. We'll not give so many wickets in the first 10 overs.
Kane Williamson: "Fantastic performance all around, a tough surface to get in on. Tim and Trent to start off, just built up that pressure. It was really tough to score. Just a slowish surface. It was going to be hard to score. We knew it will be tough, but we wanted to execute our skills. The focus is the next game.
