6.51pm So, that is a wrap from Trent Bridge. An enthralling Test match ends in an extraordinary hurry. Shoaib Bashir is talking to Sky and looking a bit bewildered by what has unfolded. West Indies no doubt agree! They fought superbly for three days and two sessions, then collapsed in a heap in little more than 90 minutes. England win their first Test series since the tour of Pakistan in December 2022, next week they'll be gunning for 3-0 at Edgbaston. Join us then! From Miller, Sreshth, Thilak and the team, good night!

Hypocaust: "Shoaib Bashir's 5-41 are the best 4th innings figures by an England men's spinner on home soil since Moeen Ali took 6-53 against South Africa at Lord's in 2017."

Matt: "Pleased for Bashir. After having not bowled at all and scored a duck at Lord's, nice that's played his part here. "

Conrad: "Clearly some amazing "halftime" talk from new bowling mentor Jimmy! He is the bowler that has impressed me most today!! "

Edmund: "Where is the gentleman who around 2 hours ago was complaining about this being a pancake and England having only a poor spinner and Wood's pace being nullified?" Gently rocking in a corner, no doubt!

Ben Stokes: "Amazing, the comeback we showed after the opening partnership was remarkable, Ten wickets for 70 was exceptional, Bash showed the world what he's about, change of pace, change of line... top class. In team sport you want a few to stand up but that partnership between Brook and Root last night, toughest batting conditions, got through that, and put pressure back on. We could have got a few more runs in first innings, but in the pressure of fourth innings, 380 was a lot of runs.

"This week has been great for the progression as a group, but also individuals. Ben Duckett looking to put bowlers under pressure, Joe was Joe, Brooky went out and played the house down. And Woody... someone will pay! He's not got the rewards this game, but bowling in partnerships, the wickets at the other end... his pace was phenomenal but the skill he has to hit the same area, with batters also thinking there's one coming at my head. Sure he'll get his rewards. Woakesy found his rhythm in second spell on day two and led the attack so well, changed the game with that first wicket. Always delivers. External noise about leading the attack hasn't affected him."

Kraigg Brathwaite: "Reasonably happy with performance, could have been better with the ball, with the bat, good in the first innings, didn't follow it in the second. You see the effort from the guys, the fitness is there, got to be much more disciplined. England showed us how to bowl on this pitch, not to get hit square of the wicket. But the guys will learn. Kavem a hundred then a duck, that's Test cricket. We dropped some crucial catches, that happens. Could be better at line and length, but catches win matches. I wouldn't have expected that collapse but it's gone, it's history. Test cricket is never an easy game. Got to stay tough and keep fighting."

Ollie Pope is Player of the Match: "A top day," he says, after briefly skippering England towards the end. "We saw last night, it swung and nipped under lights, so Rooty and Brooky were class. Negotiated that and put pressure on when we can. I feel really good about where my game is at, happy with how I've played this series, long may it continue."

So the post-Anderson era begins with an easy win for the hosts. West Indies have a lot of thinking to do before Edgbaston. Stick around for the presentation.

Nic: "That was a much better Test match than a 241-run margin of victory suggests."

6.30pm West Indies have collapsed after a promising start to their chase of 385. Their openers put on 66, but after that Bashir, Woakes, Atkinson and Wood ran through the visitors after the drinks break in the final session. At one point, nearly everyone thought this game would go well into the fifth day, but the flurry of dismissals tonight have ended that idea.

The day didn't belong to the England bowlers alone. The Yorkshire pair of Brook and Root dazzled with centuries of their own in the morning. All the positives from the visiting bowlers in the afternoon have dissipated rather swiftly as West Indies go down by 241 runs.

Stat alert: Shoaib Bashir is now the youngest England bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a men's Test at home. James Anderson was the previous youngest.

Brian: "WI bowled out in a single (albeit extended) session after tea."

Shoaib Bashir to S Joseph, OUT, five for Bashir, and England claim the Richards-Botham trophy easily! Full ball on middle. Joseph swings across the line, and he makes a mess of it. He's bowled and Bashir claims 5-41

Atkinson to S Joseph, no run, full ball wider outside off. Joseph clears the front leg to tee off but he's only found air. The attempted shot was totally through the wrong line, more so with the ball moving away from the left-hander

Atkinson to S Joseph, no run, fullish ball on off and angling into the batter. He's caught in two minds, whether to flick or not, and the ball hits him on the leg. Missing leg stump I suppose, so no appeal
