1.6 Edged and gone! Outstanding grab at third slip! This was full and wide, enticing the drive and the shape away takes a thick edge. This though flies to Mehidy at third slip, who reacts excellently and plucks this with both hands just above head height 3/1
11.6 cleans him up with an absolute peach! Length delivery that starts outside off before boomeranging back in. Karunaratne goes searching for it away from his body, thinking it is full enough to drive. Does not get to the pitch and leaves a massive gap between bat and pad. The ball breezes through and pegs back off stump. Bangladesh well on top now! 41/3
11.2 Khaled has his second! Short and wide, bit of extra bounce means that Mendis is unsure whether to play at this or leave it. He ends up going for the cut and pulling out late, but it just glides off the bat straight to gully! 40/2
13.4 has Mathews been run out?! Bangladesh are very confident! Back of a length outside off. Chandimal tips it into the off side and calls Mathews through. Mathews was a touch late to react. He has to stretch every sinew to make his ground, and might be in trouble, with the Bangladesh captain hitting the stumps. All eyes on the replay...and it shows that Mathews is indeed short of his ground. Oh dear, just what Sri Lanka did not want at this stage! 47/4
16.2 the leg slip ploy works a charm! Back of a length delivery on the pads. Chandimal feels he can glance this fine and pick up some runs. The problem, though, is that a fielder is stationed for exactly that stroke. He cannot keep it down either, and he helps it towards leg slip, who swoops down low to his left and snares it, inches off the ground. But hang on, just hang on. The third umpire has been called in to check if this was a clean catch. The ball, Rod Tucker says, has carried but he just wants to be sure if the fingers are underneath. He looks at multiple displays, and decides that the catch should stand. Perhaps the right call, and SL lose another! 57/5
58.4 One brings two and both centurions are back in dressing room! This was dug in short, 142kph, DDS takes on the pull but Mehidy is waiting for it at deep backward square leg and he makes no mistake. Rana's shouts of joy can be heard loud and clear through the stump mic 264/7
56.3 And he's gone the very next ball! And this was almost a carbon copy of the chance that was spilled off him first ball. Back of a length outside off, pushes at it away from his body and it catches the outside edge. This time though it carries safely to Litton, who makes no mistake 259/6
60.4 Edged and Rana has his third! Turning out to be a splendid debut for the youngster. This was full outside off, Jayasuriya follows it with a tentative push and can only manage an edge through to the keeper 265/8

65.6 edged and taken! SL lose their ninth! Tosses this one up a little more and hangs it outside off. Fernando is drawn into poking at it and has to do so away from his body. The ball straightens just enough, scratches the outside edge and nestles into the keeper's palms! First wicket to fall to spin today! 278/9
67.6 oh dear, that just about sums up Sri Lanka's innings! Floated up full on the stumps. Kumara tries to smash it into next week but miscues it. Falls short of mid off, and Kumara is hell-bent on the single. Rajitha, though, is ball-watching. Kumara has to turn back but by then, it is too late. The throw is not great but the fielder at short leg shows good awareness to collect and take off the bails, with Kumara stranded! 280/10

15.1 And he strikes straight away! Hits a hard length just outside off, Mahmudul pushes at this with hard hands it a grabs the edge which flies low to third slip 53/4
2.2 big appeal, and given! The first time really that Fernando has gotten his line right, and he reaps the rewards straightaway. On a length, pitches just outside off and nips back into Zakir. He is caught on the crease and ends up playing inside the line. Gets pinned on the back leg in front of off stump, and Chris Gaffaney raises his finger. Zakir wants to have another look, though. No bat involved. Ball Tracking comes up and it shows the ball would have clipped the top of middle and off stump. Umpire's Call and Zakir has to go! 11/1
4.4 another massive lbw shout, and the finger goes up again! Shanto reviews too, but this looked pretty adjacent! Back of a length in the channel, very similar to the ball that got Zakir. Jags back in and keeps a smidgen low too. Shanto's bat is in a different postcode when the ball smashes into his back pad. Was it too high? Was it doing too much? Negative on both of those counts. Three reds on Ball Tracking with the ball thundering into middle stump. Bangladesh in early strife! 17/2
7.6 what a beauty, and Mominul bites the dust! Back of a length delivery that seems destined to angle into middle and off. On pitching, though, it decks away and squares up Mominul completely. He dangles his bat and the ball flies off the outside edge towards third slip, where Kamindu Mendis snaffles it up. Bangladesh in all sorts of trouble now! 31/3
39.2 And Taijul's sojourn comes to an end! This one was fuller and wider, entices that flamboyant drive. But he's reaching for it and this time the edge is found. Mendis completes a good take to his left 140/7
21.6 Edged and gone! Kumara is repaid for his persistent line and length. Keeps peppering away on a back of a length just outside off, and after one that had kept low this one surprises Shahadat with the extra bounce. He pushes forward and gets an edge off the shoulder of the bat, that DDS at first slip pouches easily 83/5
34.4 knocks him over with a peach! Length delivery that starts outside off and decks back in considerably. Decks back sharply too, and Litton, without getting to the pitch of the ball, prods at it. Leaves a gap between bat and pad, and the ball bursts through. Might have perhaps taken an inside edge too but Sri Lanka do not care. That is just what they would have wanted before the lunch break! 124/6
43.4 Top edge and gone! This was pitched on middle and off, and just straightened a touch. It also holds up a touch. Means that Mehidy is early on this stroke, looking to work it through midwicket. Gets leading edge that goes straight up in the air and point settles under it 147/8
49.2 Fernando gets Shoriful! Banged in again, and this follows the batter as he backs away. Shoriful swings at it anyway and the ball goes straight up off the splice. Fernando seems to misjudge it initially but then back-tracks smartly to catch it over his shoulder. Third wicket for Fernando, and SL now just a scalp away from bundling Bangladesh out! 187/9
51.3 edged and taken! That will be that! Keeps going short outside off and Khaled keeps swinging. This time, he finally gets some bat to it but not enough to clear the keeper. A healthy nick and Mendis takes it smartly above his head. Bangladesh have been bowled out for 188! 188/10

5.4 Rana with the early breakthrough! Beautiful, beautiful delivery. Perfect line and perfect length. In the channel just outside off. Madushka does not know whether to play at it or leave it. In the end, he dangles his bat and the ball kisses the outside edge, floating through to Litton, who snares the chance to his right! Just what Bangladesh would have wanted before the tea break! 19/1
31.4 Shoriful surprises Karunaratne with the short ball, and he gets his reward! Sharp delivery that gets up high, almost up to the helmet badge. Karunaratne cannot get out of the way, nor can he control the stroke. Swipes at it and the ball spoons up off the top edge. Rana tracks it well at fine leg, and does the rest! Vital wicket for Bangladesh! 113/5
11.3 Rana has his second! And well deserved for this spell of bowling! This was a fantastic bouncer just above shoulder height and right near the grills. Mendis goes for the hook but pulls out of it late. Ends up in no-man's land as the ball just feathers the glove through to the keeper 32/2
17.5 But no matter, Mathews is gone next ball! This was short, but some turn and bounce away from off. Mathews looks to cut but gets a faint edge through to Litton, who bobbles it on the first attempt but grabs it safely on the rebound 60/3
19.1 Bangladesh have another! Huge appeal for leg before first up! Umpire is unmoved, but this looked close to the naked eye. It pitches on off on a good length and catches Chandimal on the back leg. Bangladesh review just in the nick of time. And it is in fact a great review! Three reds as ball tracking shows this crashing into leg stump. Chandimal will be disappointed as that was a pretty straight one. 64/4
84.2 and Mehidy has wangled a wicket off a long hop. DDS cannot believe what he has done and has his head in his hands, and a wry smile on his face. He clearly wanted to stick around to see Kamindu to triple figures, if nothing else. This was a proper half-tracker, which DDS goes back to and plays a pull shot against. But perhaps because of a lack of concentration he's hit it to short midwicket, who moves about a foot to his left and takes it at belly-height. End of another fine innings. 299/7
38.5 gone this time! Probing in that fifth stump channel outside off. The length gets big on Fernando and he gets into trouble. Feels for it away from his body and the ball pops up off the shoulder of the bat towards fourth slip. Mehidy stoops down low and claims the catch but the third umpire has been called into action. The third umpire does not have the greatest camera angles to work with, although it does look like the ball carried. Rod Tucker agrees with that assessment, and Fernando has to walk back! 126/6
110.4 he's out, finally! And Sri Lanka's innings comes to an end. He tried to clobber this flattish ball over the legside again, but gets a big top edge, and Mehidy Hasan settles under this catch at midwicket and pouches it. 418/10
101.3 cleans him up! Gives it a bit of air on a length on middle stump. Jayasuriya's eyes light up and he tries to smash it into next week. Does not get to the pitch of the ball, and does not account for the angle across him either. A fresh-air shot and he hears the death rattle soon after! 366/8
101.4 two in two for Mehidy and Bangladesh! Darted in on a full length on off stump. Kumara's feet go nowhere and he has a tentative poke at it. Gets done on the inside and the ball pins him in front. Chris Gaffaney, without much hesitation, raises his finger. Kumara has reviewed because, well, why not. No bat involved, and the ball has smashed into the back pad. This will be curtains for Kumara. Ball Tracking shows the ball hitting middle stump two-thirds of the way up, and Kumara has to go! 366/9

0.4 gone! This looks very good, Vishwa basically celebrappealed for this lbw. But Joy has reviewed it. It's going to be tough to overturn on first look. This is full, pitching on about leg (the main thing that will save Joy is if it pitches outside leg), straightening, and hitting Joy halfway up the pad, as he attempts to clip it through leg. He has not got an edge to that, and the ball projector shows it pitching on leg and hitting leg stump flush. Superb start for Vishwa and Sri Lanka. 0/1
7.5 gone now! Edges behind. This is a superb line, angled in from around the wicket, straightens off the seam, and Zakir Hasan plays at this back-of-a-length ball. Takes a thin edge and Mendis gobbles it up. Bangladesh are nosediving here. 36/3
1.6 loose shot, and caught at slip! Shanto was looking to be positive, but that was a very wide, full delivery from Rajitha, and was always going to be tough to control early in your innings. He threw his bat at it, and the top edge flew at head-high to the first slip Dimuth Karunaratne, who takes it comfortably. 9/2

8.3 they keep nicking off! Three ball duck for Shahadat Hossain. First two balls he had had his outside edge beaten, but this time this back of a length ball in the channel takes the edge, and Mendis dives hard to his right to pouch it safely. 37/4
8.4 what is happening here? That is a mad, mad shot from Litton Das who runs down the track, tries to blast one across the line over midwicket, top edges that hiiiiiigh into the air, and Angelo Mathews, coming in from cover, completes the catch only metres from the pitch. You have to feel for him because he's kept all day, and part of yesterday. But still that is an insane shot to play first up. 37/5
15.1 big appeal, and given! Rajitha goes full, starting it just outside off. Comes back in with the angle and Taijul, trapped on the crease, does not account for it. Misses it by a fair distance and the ball pins into his front pad. Chris Gaffaney raises his finger quite promptly, although Taijul has reviewed. More in hope, I suspect. Ball Tracking comes up, and it shows the ball would have smashed into leg stump. Early breakthrough for Sri Lanka, and they are just four wickets away from a 1-0 series lead! 51/6
32.3 got him! Rajitha provides the breakthrough. Mehidy was looking so good with the drives, but it's the drive that brings his downfall. This is pitched up about a foot outside off and there to be driven. Mehidy tries to spank this past cover again, but gets only an outside edge to it, which goes to second slip at about chest height. Rajitha is pumped. 117/7
45.5 Rajitha gets the breakthrough! This was a bit of a nothing shot from Shoriful. This was on a length outside off, and Shoriful wants to hit that on the up through mid off. But it hits the inside half of the bat and pops up back to the bowler, who takes it comfortably around head high. Mominul is understandably displeased. 164/8
45.6 gone first ball. Nicked him off, by bowling in the channel, about a fourth-stump line. This pitched on a length, Ahmed had nothing going in the feet, and just presented his edge which the ball collected on its way to Mendis. That was dying on the keeper, but easy enough in the end. 164/9
49.2 that will be that! Kumara picks up the final wicket, and Sri Lanka win by 328 runs! Dug in short on middle and off, and the ball keeps snaking back into Rana. He cannot get out of the way and just fends at it in hope. The ball pops up off the shoulder of the bat towards de Silva, who makes no mistake running back from second slip. A superb result for Sri Lanka, and this victory also gives them their first WTC points this cycle! 182/10
