And as the floodlights cover the ground beautifully, it's time for us to say goodbye on ESPNcricinfo. The second T20I is on Monday, so we'll see you there. Keep an eye out on the website and app to see all the reactions from the team press conferences that will happen very soon. On behalf of Karthik Krishnaswamy, this is Sreshth Shah signing off, but if you want to consume some more cricket, the second innings of the IPL is on. Click here for that.

Stat alert: This is Pakistan's 100th win today excluding the wins coming via super over.

We'll have the presentation very soon.

Babar: "Winning the first game gives us more confidence. We carried the confidence from the ODIs. Rizwan played an outstanding innings. First six overs of our bowling wasn't good, but we did well to restrict them in the back five. And Rizwan's innings was the difference too. The plan while chasing was to get momentum as openers, knowing that Fakhar and Hafeez will follow. The idea was to utilise the first six overs well."

Rizwan is the Player of the Match. He said: "It was a bit tricky track in the second innings,. But the way the skipper and I started in the Powerplay it was good. Fakhar's ODI innings was on my mind today while playing on how to play on this surface by taking some time early on. International cricket is always about pressure. Message was also coming from dugout and keep going. We like that we have good batsmen in the lower order too."

Klaasen: "We were 10-15 short. Wicket was good. Aiden and I had a good partnership. I reckon Janneman and Aiden played, showed early it was a good wicket. A few balls were inconsistent with the spinners. When I got in, Aiden said it was a good wicket to play shots. If we had executed better with the ball in the death, our score was enough. One or two things on the field too. Need to fine tune fielding choices and bowling effort too. We can turn it around with some fine tuning and execution."

Peanut: "This series has been great so far, tight games, good cricket, drama!"

Shoaib Manzoor: "Things to rememer, This is the highest t20 chase by Pakistan."

Rajat: "Depleted side or not, South Africa have themselves to blame here. Firstly a poor close with the bat in last 5 overs which meant they ended 20 runs short of what they should have easily got. Then they had a chance to restrict Pakistan who needed 57 off 28 balls with 5 wickets down. Most teams should be able to defend that even with their second string bowling attack. "

Zain: "I'd give Hassan Ali man of the match basically won Pakistan the match on both ends."

Sadiq Siddiqui: "Lizaad really bowled a brilliant last over under pressure. Unfortunate that two catches were dropped off his bowling. Pakistan was destined to win I think so."

6.08pm And some sloppy fielding in the final over means that Pakistan win this with one ball to spare. If they got a wicket in the first ball, and then the chance for Hendricks, and this game could've had a different story. Rizwan stays unbeaten on 74, and leads the handshakes. The visitors lead 0-1.

South Africa will have so many what-ifs today. Their death overs with the bat was poor too, and then too many full tosses when Pakistan were on the back foot. Faheem's 14-ball 30 was super useful too. South African support staff actually look very disappointed. Boucher and co definitely feel like this game was theirs to win, especially when Pakistan needed 52 off four overs. Their only positive is that the bowling attack was very inexperienced, while Pakistan were nearly full strength.

Mariam: "The 17th over brought Pakistan back into the game. Absolutely mindblowing by Rizwan and Faheem. "
