5:10pm That will be all from us for day two. India still well ahead in the game but South Africa have shown they are here for the fight. Srinidhi's report should be your go-to place, especially if you missed out on any of the action. We will be back again tomorrow for what promises to be another day of intriguing Test cricket. Until then, this is goodbye from me, Srinidhi, Sudeep, Vairavan and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo. Take care, folks!

5:02pm Another engaging day of Test cricket. India began where they left off and got past the 600-mark before they decided to declare. South Africa, to their credit, have managed to stitch a partnership almost every time a wicket has fallen, which explains why they are only four wickets down, having scored 236.

Luus held fort for 164 balls before being dismissed by Deepti. Kapp, meanwhile, has kept on going and holds the key for South Africa, especially if they are to get close to India's total. de Klerk has shown good intent and the visitors will hope this partnership can bat deep into the first session tomorrow (at least).

As for India, Rana was the pick of the bowlers. Her ability to extract turn and get the odd one to go on straight has caused the South Africans problems. Deepti also popped up with the vital scalp of Luus and with the ball turning and bouncing more sharply now, India will be expectant of getting a sizeable lead, especially if they bowl the way they have today.

Sune Luus: Today was probably one of the hardest sessions we had, batting wise. The conditions are something you cannot train for back home. It was a great challenge. The partnership up front, worked nicely until lunch and then me and Kappie, followed by her and de Klerk at the end. The bounce is uneven and the pitch is tough but it was a pretty good day for us. It was very simple (the plan). To cover the stumps when it was straight and defending solidly, and then capitalising on the freebies. Even in Test cricket, if it is in your area, you have to go after it and we did that today. (On their prep) Something we have been working on is using the depth of the crease and coming down too. That is what we did well, Kappie is doing that nicely (so far). Hitting the ball as close or as under your eyes
when we got our head above the pads, it became difficult.

Rana to Kapp, no run, a bit of a drag-down on off to finish things. Kapp carefully negotiates it and that brings us to stumps on day two!

Rana to Kapp, no run, flighted up again, on a length just outside off. Kapp resists the temptation and defends off the back foot

Rana to Kapp, no run, tossed up generously and quite full outside off. Kapp tries to dig it out and ends up hitting the turf with the toe-end of her bat

This should be the final over of the day. Rana to bowl it. Can she dent SA one more time before the end?
