6.25pm And that's a wrap from us at ESPNcricinfo. Pakistan fans, farewell. Bangladesh fans, goodbye. Time for you guys to switch into neutrals tomorrow - and we'll see you soon with more World Cup action. Till then, it's goodbye from me, Sreshth, on behalf of Peter Della Penna and Ranjith P.

Sarfaraz Ahmed: "It's very unfortunate - we played good cricket but haven't qualified. That one game, against West Indies, cost us the tournament. Boys responded well after the India game. Did well in all three after that - batting, bowling, fielding. When we started the World Cup, we had a different combination. We need to sit down. We have two months off, and we need to do a lot of work with the team. At the moment, when team is winning everything is fine. Credit to our batsmen - Imam, Babar and Haris. And the bowlers - Amir, Shadab, Wahab, Shaheen. The way Shaheen is bowling, the consistency is amazing. One of the best bowling performances I've ever seen."

Mashrafe Mortaza: "I think both matches - last two matches - Shakib batted so well but we couldn't get partnerships. Game was 50-50, think we could've chased it, but partnerships were missing. I want to say sorry for Shakib, if we stepped up the tournament could've been different. Batted, bowled, fielded well - he was fantastic. Some important matches, our fielding wasn't good. It cost us a lot. Batting was fantastic. Mustafizur, starting from his career, he was unplayable. He got injured, but since our Ireland tour he's been really good. Hopefully no injuries for him in the future. Real asset for Bangladesh cricket. We are not satisfied. Could've finished the World Cup on a good note, but end of the day, we've had a 50-50 World Cup. You give your 100%, and sometimes you need a bit of luck - but it's never been with us. I will go home and rethink of my career, and then make a final call. Thanks to all supporters - present all over the ground and back home. They keep supporting us. Hopefully next time we will make them happy."

Mariam: "So close yet so far. Still proud of my team."

M.: "As heartbroken I am about Pakistan's spot in the semis, we did perform really well. Had it not been for those little moments that went against us, the semi spot was ours. Losing to Australia from an upper position, Braithwaite caught at the boundary, SL game washed out, NZ losing the toss to England and forced to field and other little moments. "

Ruksan Fayaz: "Pakistan's team selection in first few matches were not perfect. Pak gave preference to age and experience instead of talent and energy. Age and experience matter in politics not cricket."
Jawad: "Pakistan goes down fighting. Well done Pakistan."

Here's the Player of the Match, Shaheen Shah Afridi: "I'm happy for this performance. It's a special feeling for me, my family, for all of Pakistan. The wicket was slow. The first innings Mustafizur bowled well using cutters and I thought I would use cutters."

Aman: "If only Braithwaite could have hit that 6 .. If only Shaheen was part of Pak playing 11 from the start ..Pak would have been in SF"

Murali Krishnan: "Yesterday was a teenager with the bat creating a record. Today is another teenager with the ball, creating a record. Can we have a hatrick tomorrow? Any teenager playing in the two matches? "

6.06 pm Shaheen's celebratory march off is pre-empted as the Pakistan squad create a mini-guard of honor for Shoaib Malik. He's not in the XI today but they wanted to give him whatever dignified farewell may be possible at his last World Cup for the 37-year-old ex-captain.

Shaheen Shah Afridi to Mustafizur Rahman, OUT, bouncer-yorker combo produces the best ever figures by a Pakistan bowler in a World Cup! Majority of the people in the ground and at home had to know it was coming. Mustafizur had to know it was coming. But this is just too good tailing into leg stump and Mustafizur is helpless trying to stab it out while backing away. What a show put on by the teenager!

Shadab Khan to Mustafizur Rahman, no run, googly pitching on middle but way too short, he reads it off the pitch and swats it to midwicket.

Mustafizur trots out with two balls left in the over. Will Shaheen have a chance to get his sixth?

Shadab Khan to Mashrafe Mortaza, OUT, clever by Shadab! Mashrafe had gotten into the habit of charging and this time telegraphed it too early. Shadab responded by dragging this back shorter and wider well outside off. Mashrafe not remotely close to the pitch trying to cut it as the ball comes to Sarfaraz just inside the wide guidelines outside off and he shuffles back to the stumps to take the bails off with Mashrafe's back foot a half meter short of getting back in.
