The Sixers had a poor start to the innings and lost both of their openers in the powerplay. With Patterson being bowled out by a stunning Wrong-un off Waqar, they were in dire straits. Silk and Henriques made a feeble attempt to salvage the innings. The Hurricanes bowled beautifully, keeping the line and length throughout the innings. Although the Hurricanes were playing without their captain, the players did a good job of covering each other with the bat and the ball. All six of the bowlers who were used took wickets.
