11.26 pm What a wild momentum swing. Tim David looked like he was going to win the match with an over to spare, but a mental error going for an unnecessary single to end the 18th over killed the Mumbai chase as Bhuvi followed it up with a spectacular wicket maiden and Sunrisers hold on by three runs.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma: "Till about the second to last over, I thought we had it. Unfortunate runout of Tim David but we thought we were very much in the game till that runout. Even 19 runs to go with two overs, you would back yourself to get that but unfortunately we couldn't do it. Credit to Sunrisers to hold their nerve. It was a very tense moment and they held their nerve very well at the back end. [On the Mumbai bowling] We wanted to try a few things keeping one eye on the future. We wanted to try out certain guys to bowl under pressure in certain situations of the game. I thought they batted pretty well to get to 193 but the way we pulled things back at the back end was a great effort. We were not consistent with the ball up front and that can happen. But I thought it was a great effort towards the back end. With the bat, we came pretty close but couldn't finish it off. [On Rohit's 48 today, a season best] It feels good. [Asked about the last game] For us it's pretty simple. We just want to tick off the boxes, finish off on a high note if possible. We will try everything we can from our side to put our best foot forward in the last game. If there is an opportunity to try out some more guys, we will look to do that too."

Sunrisers bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar: [Asked about the 19th over] I was just looking to bowl the Yorkers because I know even if I miss, there's a less chance that it may not go for a boundary. I knew if I gave a boundary then we may be under pressure but I was just looking to stick to the yorker. [On his bowling through the season] I'm pretty satisfied the way I've bowled this season."

Sunrisers captain Kane Williamson: "Nice to break [the losing streak]. We had a few games there where momentum certainly wasn't on our side and we couldn't wrestle it back. This game ebbed and flowed and we won a few key moments to get across the line. I'm sure you've touched on a number of outstanding contributions today but all in all, I think a really good performance and a lot of learnings come from it. [On Tripathi's batting] He's a seriously special player and he comes out and takes that momentum away and that's his attitude every time he bats. We've seen that on a number of occasions throughout this competition. He's certainly destined for big things I reckon. [On how to use Umran Malik] He always bowls quick which is a real strength and bonus weapon for our side. He's still young but clearly has an amazing skill set there that if he can channel and use at the right times, then can turn a match. We saw that today. His contribution was brilliant. [On Priyam] He's a seriously talented cricketer. Great that he can have that opportunity today and he's one of those players that I think we're going to see a lot more of. He's got a really good head on his shoulders, captained his Under-19 year. A lot of potential but a lot of skill as well. [Decision to give the ball to Bhuvneshwar for the 19th over] I think it got to a point where... our death bowling has been a real strength of ours and Bhuvi has been one of the top death bowlers of the competition. So an opportunity to try to close the game a little bit. But the striking of Tim David is obviously something special and it took a funny bit of cricket to get that to come to an end. But at the same time, a lot of learning, but Bhuvi has been incredible and at his best in every match to be fair and really led our attack which is really important throughout a season. His contribution today, and to bowl a maiden, is an amazing contribution and a match-winning moment really."

Rahul Tripathi has been named Player of the Match: [On his preferred batting position] "I would say wherever you want me to bat. But I enjoy batting at No. 3 and the responsibility. It's important that if the openers have given a good start, just continuing that or whatever the situation is, I'm trying to learn from that. [Facing Bumrah] I think he's a great bowler. We all know that he bowls great balls so I was just looking to react to what he's bowling. Luckily he bowled one and my shot came off. [Does he ever look to block] It's how the wicket is playing and how I can counter attack that bowler at that time. If I see that it's there and I can take the bowler on, then I definitely go for the shot. If it's not there, then I just look to take those singles and doubles. [Which is a bigger number, making 400 runs or a strike rate of 160] I think the mixture of both. It's important sometimes the strike rate, but the runs scored for the team is always special and to win games, that is more important. So I'm happy I can do that today. [On what he feels is taking a risk] When a bowler is bowling, in a T20 game, there cannot be a moment where you can really slow down. At least a single or double is very important and the game needs to keep continuing on. That's what I keep focusing on. Every ball is an event so I just look on that ball, what can be the best result. If I get it, then that's good. [Thinking about higher honors] When you play cricket, it's obviously your dream to represent the country. If I keep doing well and they believe that I can win matches for my country, then definitely I will get the opportunity."

That does it for today's live coverage. Come back tomorrow for more live IPL action. On behalf of my commentary partner Ekanth, I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!

Fazalhaq Farooqi to Ramandeep Singh, SIX, 103 kph slower ball on a length on fifth stump is creamed over the second deck over midwicket. But that six is cosmetic to the scorecard. Sunrisers hold on to win by three runs and are still mathematically alive for the playoffs!

Looks like Williamson's decision to go with Farooqi here instead of bowling out Umran will be vindicated.

Fazalhaq Farooqi to Ramandeep Singh, no run, yorker on sixth stump at 134 kph, jammed out for no run to cover.

Sumith: "Absolute brain-fade from David as a result of the sugar-rush from Nattu! "

Fazalhaq Farooqi to Ramandeep Singh, 2 runs, full outside off, skies another drive over mid-off and they come back for an easy two.

Arun Prakash: "Yet another run out at an unwanted time costing them a game. Story of why MI is at the bottom of the table." Very panicky move by David. They needed 19 off 12 if he turned the run down. A single at any point in the next over and he's still in control. I could understand if he did that off the last ball of the 19th over but not the last ball of the 18th.
