Thakur, Mota double-strikes hurt Delhi

Delhi 166 and 110 for 4 (Gambhir 34, Mota 2-30, Thakur 2-43) need another 331 to beat Mumbai 156 and 450 (Herwadkar 161, Iyer 82, Lad 55, Manan 4-92)
Scorecard

Wilkin Mota and Shardul Thakur took Mumbai a significant step closer to the semi-final. They claimed a double-strike each to complicate Delhi's job of chasing a mammoth 441 in the fourth innings.

Gautam Gambhir and Unmukt Chand had seemed stable for the better part of 22 overs. But then came the wobble.

Mota bowled Chand for 31 and three balls later, sent the nightwatchman Shivam Sharma back for a duck. Delhi were 92 for 2 in the 34th over when Thakur ended Gambhir's 107-ball vigil for 34 and had Mithun Manhas caught behind for a duck soon after. Rajat Bhatia, with 25 off 49 balls and Manan Sharma, with 14 off 31, survived till stumps.

It capped off a great day for Mumbai, who had benefited from their tail wagging long enough to push an overnight 376 for 7 to 450. Siddhesh Lad completed his half-century and was dismissed for 55 off 133 balls, Thakur bashed 20 off 14, Harmeet Singh frustrated for 60 balls as the final three wickets consumed 23 overs.

Sehwag is down with a viral and could not field for most of Mumbai's second innings. As a result, he cannot bat higher than No. 7.
