Ten Doeschate stars as Otago make it two in two

Ryan ten Doeschate's bruising 64 from 32 broke the back of a mediocre Kandurata Maroons total, and all but secured Otago Volts' place in the Champions League proper

Many thanks for all your comments and feedback. It's time to move over to the next match - Wolves versus the ones they are programmed to hate, the Sunrisers. Ciao ciao.

Thirimanne: "I thought we were 10-15 runs short, our bowlers gave a good fight, but we should have got around 170 on this wicket. We didn't expect running like that from Tendo, so the credit goes to him."

Brendon McCullum: "Thanks to the guys who have got this opportunity to shine on a world stage. (Tendo's running) was crazy, but the options they took during the middle overs were phenomenal. It's a very proud moment for us to be representing New Zealand here."

How well did Tendo play? For a man who joined the team today, he played an excellent hand here. At one stage, it looked like Kandurata were getting back into the match after dismissing Brendon McCullum, but Tendo just took them by surprise with his clean hitting, especially that over in which he hit those three consecutive sixes, to put the chase back on track. Otago Volts are now through to the next round. Kandurata have to now hope that Faisalabad Wolves can edge past Sunrisers Hyderabad, and they win their next, and Otago beat Sunrisers, etc, etc...Basically, it is difficult..

pravin: "Umm..not necessarily " Otago Volts are now through to the next round" . If Sunrisers lose today and on 20th both Sunrisers and Wolfs win , there could be a 3 - way tie on 4 points and NRR would decide the qualifactions .. Just saying !!"

James: "James Neesham won't get the headlines, but he's had a decent day. Wicket of Sanga (never a bad one), and seeing his team home here." ---- True James, excellent partnership between Tendo and Neesham, and their running between the wickets was just outstanding.

"Will Sangakara Play For Sunrisers If They Qualify.?" Sorry Nabeel, as much as we would like to see Sangakkara play, he made his choice before the start of the tournament.
