- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR18.2 nipping back and striking the front pad, up goes the finger! Cook doesn't look confident but eventually decides to review, knowing how big a wicket this could be for Pakistan... it's tight on line, umpire's call but that's good enough for Rahat, ball-tracker predicting a headache for off stump and Cook is a goner! He played slightly the wrong line, decent ball, though 75/39.3 got him this time! Reward for tightening up the lines. Just shot of a good length, shaping away from Hales, in the air then off the seam, takes the outside edge 36/111.5 huge moment! Sohail having a major impact. Root forcing off the back foot, gets a thick outside edge which is safely (yes safely) held by Hafeez at first slip. Now then, now then 48/236.5 edged to second slip! Younis celebrates then says he isn't sure. Was a back of a length ball, Vince defending rather than driving, it was certainly dying on its way to slip. Soft signal is 'not out'. Looks like it has carried, fingers under the ball. He's done very well here. Vince should be gone here. Another big breakthrough for Sohail. Very clear stuff from the third umpire, Dharmasena, as well 144/467.2 he's done him with the big turner from outside off again! At Lord's it rattled his stumps, this time it leaps into the inside edge, for Sarfraz to move swiftly to his right and snaffle an impressive leg-side take. That's the big breakthrough, and Yasir has his first of the day! 224/640.2 short and wide, bit of extra bounce... and it kisses the top edge on its way through! Vapid cut shot from Bairstow and he can regret at leisure, a rather daft waft, given the match situation, and Sohail has four-for 158/582.1 gottim, nicked to the keeper! Moeen tries to up the tempo with No. 10 for company, forcing a shot off the back foot and there's a thin but discernible edge as the ball straightens just enough. Amir on the money and England have almost cashed their chips 278/972.3 snorter! Woakes is one of England's form men, but that was unplayable. Tight line, demanded a stroke, nipped half a bat's width and grazed through to the keeper. You can't do much about those, and England's lengthy tail has its work cut out all of a sudden! 244/780.2 good length, bit of shape, Broad swishes away from his body - and Azhar clings on to a sharp catch above his head! That flew off the edge, high towards third slip and it was all instinct, thrust the hands up and the ball stuck! So, the new ball does it, Amir gets among the wickets at last, England eight down 276/885.6 bit of inswing, Anderson is trapped in front, up goes the finger - Sohail has his five-for! That looked a straightforward decision but Anderson reviews anyway, hoping for a lucky break. It came back a good distance, hit the back leg, and is clipping leg stump according to Hawk-Eye. Sohail threw his hands up and then prostrated himself in thanks, it's been a hugely successful comeback for him, a wicket for each year he has been out of the Test side 297/10Extras6 (lb 1, nb 4, w 1)TOTAL297 all out (86 Overs, RR: 3.45)Fall of wickets: 1-36 (Alex Hales, 9.3 ov), 2-48 (Joe Root, 11.5 ov), 3-75 (Alastair Cook, 18.2 ov), 4-144 (James Vince, 36.5 ov), 5-158 (Jonny Bairstow, 40.2 ov), 6-224 (Gary Ballance, 67.2 ov), 7-244 (Chris Woakes, 72.3 ov), 8-276 (Stuart Broad, 80.2 ov), 9-278 (Moeen Ali, 82.1 ov), 10-297 (James Anderson, 85.6 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR0.4 gone! Early blow for England. Not Anderson's best ball at all, a bit short and wide, Hafeez goes for a cut and doesn't keep it down and it's a sharp, low chance at point 0/162.2 good grief, what a way to go! A dab to point, a suicidal call, a smart pick-up from Vince and he had time to steady himself before splatting out the stumps with a perfect shy from ten yards! Poor Aslam, that is such a cruel end to a fantastic innings. Eighteen runs shy of becoming the youngest Test opener to score a hundred in England ... 181/289.6 gottim, steered to slip from the final ball of the day! Azhar falls at the last, drawn into playing away from his body, it flew towards Cook, who took a really smart catch right in front of his face, ended up on his backside but he held on... Azhar throws his head back and then walks off to generous applause. A top innings but he would have dearly loved to still be there in the morning 257/397.4 and he's struck! A thin edge down the leg side. The ball was there for the stroke, Younis trying to flick it away and just gets a tickle to Baristow. Probably not quite bowled-for-and-got, but Woakes won't be bothered. An edge is an edge 274/4120.1 dragged on! Something goes Anderson's way. Misbah just defending a length ball and it takes an inside edge, down into his pad/boot and ricochets back into the stumps 358/6105.6 splat! That was unexpected! The angle does for Shafiq, who seemed to have done everything right as he got into position to block the ball, but somehow missed a straight one - did his bat clip his pad as he came through the shot? - and pop goes the weasel! 296/5122.4 plays a one-legged whip-pull through square and England have pulled off a run-out! It was Woakes who was the fielder. Excellent return to Bairstow, and this looks out as Yasir tries to dive back for the second. YJB gathered the ball, then broken the stumps with his elbow having got ball in hand. Bonus for England! 367/7123.6 big appeal for lbw, a full ball which shapes in at Amir, think he got an inside edge but Cook has gone for the review. Actually, this looks like pad first. Could be close. And that's out! Very good review from bowler and captain. That's hitting middle and leg 368/8127.6 wide on the crease, strikes the pad as Sohail attempts a clip to leg, and Broad is instantly off on his celebr-appeal ... and sure enough up goes the finger! It is going to review though, but that is smashing the middle of middle! 386/9135.6 edged, and taken! Root snaffles this one in his breadbasket at second slip, and Pakistan are finally all out! 400/10Extras27 (b 5, lb 21, nb 1)TOTAL400 all out (136 Overs, RR: 2.94)Fall of wickets: 1-0 (Mohammad Hafeez, 0.4 ov), 2-181 (Sami Aslam, 62.2 ov), 3-257 (Azhar Ali, 89.6 ov), 4-274 (Younis Khan, 97.4 ov), 5-296 (Asad Shafiq, 105.6 ov), 6-358 (Misbah-ul-Haq, 120.1 ov), 7-367 (Yasir Shah, 122.4 ov), 8-368 (Mohammad Amir, 123.6 ov), 9-386 (Sohail Khan, 127.6 ov), 10-400 (Rahat Ali, 135.6 ov)
- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR38.1 what a moment! Yasir has pulled off a terrific catch. Cook comes forward to drive, he isn't quite to the pitch, ball is quite wide, spoons the ball in the air towards point where Yasir dives to his left 126/139.3 and another! How the game changes. It's fuller, hung outside off, and Hales can't resist having a poke this time sending the edge to Younis' right at second slip who makes a good grab. Amir has won that battle, hands down 126/275.1 he's broken the stand! Root gives it away. Full outside leg, Root goes for the sweep and dollies up a catch to short fine leg. Not the first time he's done that this season. 221/384.1 edged and caught! And just as I had been praising Vince for his watchfulness outside off, he's gone and fallen for the same old flaw! Outside off, a nothing flirt, offering catching practice to the tumbling Younis at second slip, and that is a very slow trudge from a batsman who has blown his best start yet 257/497.3 caught round the corner! Taken at leg slip. Pakistan keep chipping them out. Ballance goes for a flick from outside off, turns his wrists, can't keep the ball down and grab by Shafiq 282/5126.2 big appeal for lbw, that looks close, he's a long way across his stumps and Misbah reviews. I think this is out. Hits the inside of the pad, and he's in front of all three. Yep, smashing middle stump. So he's gone 434/6Extras21 (b 4, lb 7, nb 8, w 2)TOTAL445/6d (129 Overs, RR: 3.44)Fall of wickets: 1-126 (Alastair Cook, 38.1 ov), 2-126 (Alex Hales, 39.3 ov), 3-221 (Joe Root, 75.1 ov), 4-257 (James Vince, 84.1 ov), 5-282 (Gary Ballance, 97.3 ov), 6-434 (Jonny Bairstow, 126.2 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR5.5 oh my goodness, what's he done! Just pulls a short ball straight down long leg's throat. It wasn't a full on bouncer, Hafeez swivelled on a pull, didn't keep it down, and could hardly have made it easier for Woakes 6/151.3 knocks him over! Finn, you beauty. He's mobbed by his team-mates, he's punching the air like it's kissed his sister under the bleachers. This a a peach of a ball - pitching on a full length and darting back towards the off stump because of reverse swing. Aslam leaves not accounting for it and is cleaned up 125/730.3 done it! Excellent from Moeen and excellent from Cook. Tossed up outside off, drifts away a touch, draws him into the drive and the thick edge is well held by Cook at second slip. Beautiful piece of offspin bowling 79/237.4 he strikes! England sense something here...Younis pushing hard outside off, and the edge is pouched by Bairstow as he dives in front of first slip. That may have just reversed away from him. Younis' problems continue 92/347.5 yell, Stevie, yell! You've got the one England wanted! He's waited three Tests for a wicket. And would't you know it, he gets the Pakistan captain. Beautiful ball, pitches full enough to draw him forward, nips away off the seam just enough that he follows it with the open face, edge take, catch taken. 124/448.6 appeal for lbw! given! But Shafiq goes for a review. Does so after talking to his partner, which possibly means he did not nick it. It's full, nips back and beats the inside edge to rap him low enough on the pads. Poor shot, played across it. This is probably umpire's call. It is, but there's plenty of the ball hitting leg stump. Bowling change works for England. Woakes' dream summer keeps getting dreamier 125/550.5 it's not like they're hooping it around corners. Just a smidge of movement - and they make the most of it by plugging away on off stump. At a full length. Sarfraz reaches forward to defend, edges it and Root takes a fine low catch. Barely a centimeter from the ground. Soft hands, safe hands 125/656.5 add one more to the Anderson kitty, Extra bounce does Yasir. He stood up behind a back of a length delivery, but it gets big on him. Gets a thick edge and is caught by gully. Good work from Hales, taking it in front of his face. 149/859.4 he's tried holding on. But he couldn't quite resist this time. Good length ball tagged with a little width, bagged at point. Errant drive from Amir, simple catch from Woakes. Bugles erupt in Edgbaston. Cheers, screams and roars all mesh into each other. 151/970.5 done him! Moeen Ali takes the wicket that gives England at 2-1 lead! He tossed the ball up, Sohail races down the pitch to meet it. Hits it back to the bowler and he takes a good low catch. 201/10Extras3 (lb 2, nb 1)TOTAL201 all out (70.5 Overs, RR: 2.83)Fall of wickets: 1-6 (Mohammad Hafeez, 5.5 ov), 2-79 (Azhar Ali, 30.3 ov), 3-92 (Younis Khan, 37.4 ov), 4-124 (Misbah-ul-Haq, 47.5 ov), 5-125 (Asad Shafiq, 48.6 ov), 6-125 (Sarfaraz Ahmed, 50.5 ov), 7-125 (Sami Aslam, 51.3 ov), 8-149 (Yasir Shah, 56.5 ov), 9-151 (Mohammad Amir, 59.4 ov), 10-201 (Sohail Khan, 70.5 ov)

The difference between Australia and Pakistan
The quality of their bowling attacks is a big reason why one team is the top-ranked ODI side, while the other is struggling to qualify directly for the 2019 World Cup
