The spell which Imran Tahir produced against Sri Lanka, where he claimed four wickets, helped South Africa thrash their opponents by nine wickets to make the Semi-finals of World Cup 2015.
Tahir, currently the fourth-highest wicket taker with 15 wickets in seven matches, came to the fore in the 16th over, with Sri Lanka at 50 for two.
He struck for the first time, just two-overs later and dismissed Lahiru Thirimanne for 41. Tahir made the most of a spin-friendly Sydney pitch and then dismissed the dangerous Mahela Jayawardene for just four.
Sri Lanka failed to recover from the blow, as JP Duminy then claimed the wicket of Angelo Mathews, Nuwan Kulasekara, Tharindu Kaushal. The collapse left Sri Lanka tottering at 116 for eight wickets in 35 overs.
Tahir added two-more wickets to his tally and helped the Proteas dismiss Sri Lanka for just 133. It took just 18 overs for South Africa's batsmen to take their team home and into the Semi-finals. Tahir's impressive bowling-display qualifies for the for #BendTheRules Moments of the day.
