Former Premier League winner James Wade is out of the World Darts Championships after a 3-2 defeat to Keegan Brown.

Wade, seeded 11th at this year's tournament, went toe-to-toe with the Brown in a rollercoaster clash but was sent packing after the 25-year-old underdog hit double-16 to move into round two.

Wade was not the only seed to fall during an eventful evening session -- eighth seed Dave Chisnall was blown away 3-0 by fast-throwing Dutchman Vincent van der Voort.

Also through is Wales' Jamie Lewis, who produced some ruthless darts to record a 3-0 win over Jonny Clayton.

Alan Norris was a 3-0 winner over Finland's Kim Viljanen and Kyle Anderson accounted for Peter Jacques.

Ian White avoided a hat trick of upsets as the 17th seed overcame New Zealand qualifier Cody Harris 3-1.
