Time to move on from fantasy hoops busts like Draymond Green?

It's been a messy start to the 2018-19 season for Draymond Green. Will he get off the schneid soon? Photo by Noah Graham/NBAE via Getty Images

The embarrassing ongoing saga surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers' Markelle Fultz certainly makes it appear he is on the way to real-life bust status, but from a fantasy aspect, it is hard to place that title upon him for this season. After all, Fultz was a 13th-round draft pick in ESPN average live drafts this season, behind the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Zach Randolph, the former looking for a team that wants him and the latter gainfully employed but still awaiting entry into his first NBA game this season. Unlike the 76ers, who made Fultz the first pick in the 2017 NBA draft, fantasy managers saw little risk in choosing him this season.

As a result, Fultz cannot garner reasonable consideration as one of the busts of the fantasy season due to the tepid interest in him on draft day in the first place. I thought Fultz would figure things out, but it's clear now that it's not likely to happen in Philadelphia. Oh well, we move on.

However, as we reach the quarter point of the NBA season, the players below warrant consideration as busts. Acquisition price plays a significant role here, and some of these players -- perhaps all of them -- can still help fantasy managers. Unlike Fultz, it sadly seems.
