ESPN Fantasy unveils new-look 'Streak'

ESPN

Since its inception in 2008, ESPN has awarded just shy of $9 million in prizes via the original monthly fantasy pick 'em game "Streak for the Cash."

And now it's undergone a complete overhaul; welcome to the brand new "Streak."

This free-to-play game is now available in the ESPN Fantasy App with an updated design, new features and an additional prize every month. Glide seamlessly between your plethora of fantasy teams and your pending Streak pick without ever leaving the app. If you have favorite teams saved as part of your personalized ESPN experience, Streak will automatically feature those in your "top matchups" section alongside the other prominent events of the day.

To download, head to es.pn/playstreak. Picks can still be made on your desktop at espn.com/streak.

The gameplay itself hasn't changed. Playable 365 days a year, a variety of matchups will be offered every day, representing the global sports calendar. The object of the game is either to:

1. Accumulate the longest winning streak in a month by selecting the winning team, player or 'side' of various matchups. ($25,000 guaranteed monthly prize).

2. Record the maximum possible wins in a month, regardless of your streak along the way. ($5,000 guaranteed monthly prize).

Now, we're proud to offer a brand new way to win!

3. Beat the expert! Each month a new ESPN personality will be featured as they try to rack up the longest streak. At the end of the month five people who beat them will be selected by a random drawing to win $1,000 each. First up for June is legendary Fab Fiver and NBA personality Jalen Rose!

Prizes are available to players in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Complete rules available here.

One important note: you can only select one matchup at a time but you are allowed to make multiple picks in one day. Make sure to turn your alerts on so that you will be notified as soon as your selected matchup goes final and can then make another pick. Our existing users will be pleased to know that the "forfeit" button has been greatly reduced in size (for anyone who has ever accidentally forfeited, we feel your pain).

It's free to play, so what's stopping you from making a run at one of our cash prizes? Be sure to start a group with your friends and family; that way even if you find yourself falling behind the overall leader in a given month you can still take home the bragging rights over your friends, relatives or coworkers! Good luck and keep streaking!
