Kelvin Benjamin came into the 2016 campaign with plenty of question marks after missing the 2015 season with a knee injury. The preseason uncertainty surrounding his conditioning progressed to the point that Carolina head coach Ron Rivera said shortly before Week 1 that Benjamin might not get as many snaps as he did during his rookie season.
That proclamation is why it was a pleasant surprise for Benjamin's fantasy owners to see him start with 18.5 fantasy points per game over the first two weeks of the season, a scoring level that led all wide receivers at that point.
Things have not gone nearly as well since then, as Benjamin's 6.2 points-per-game average ranks tied for 49th among wide receivers and has his fantasy owners wondering whether he is even worth starting as a flex player.
