Man City heavy favourites to win Carabao Cup final, but by how many goals?

Our midweek banker bet landed as Manchester City beat Real Madrid but Juventus let the side down by losing to Lyon on Wednesday, thus scuppering a 15/2 European treble for us. There's Premier League and Clasico action this weekend, while the first domestic silverware of the season will be won as Aston Villa face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Running total: -£82.92

The Banker

Manchester City are red-hot 1/6 favourites to make it a hat trick of Carabao Cup wins when they take on Aston Villa on Sunday. The Citizens have actually lifted the trophy in four of the last six seasons and it would take a brave punter to bet against them this weekend.

When the teams met at Villa Park back in January, Pep Guardiola's men cruised to a 6-1 win. Their form has, in fairness, been a bit hit and miss since then but they'll be buoyed by that Real Madrid victory and they take on a Villa side who've lost their last three matches in all competitions.

Dean Smith's team are struggling at the wrong end of the table so will see Sunday's showpiece as a welcome distraction. However, they've lost seven of their last eight against City, who have scored 26 goals against them in that time. With this in mind, backing Manchester City to score more than three goals on Sunday looks a fair shout at 7/4 with bet365.

Selection: £4 on Over 3.5 Manchester City goals at 7/4 with bet365.

The First-Goal Flutter

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored four goals in his last five matches for Everton, and so looks a big price at 6/1 to score first against Manchester United on Sunday. Everton matches under Carlo Ancelotti are averaging 3.11 goals per game, so Sunday's clash at Goodison could be lively. Calvert-Lewin is enjoying a fabulous season and is right in the frame to be picked by Gareth Southgate for this summer's Euros if his hot form continues.

Selection: £2 on Calvert-Lewin to score first at 6/1 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Burnley (2/1) are on a roll having won four of their last five matches and can claim victory on Tyneside against a very ordinary Newcastle side on Saturday. The Magpies have won just two of their last 13 games in all competitions and are sleepwalking back into another relegation battle.

Elsewhere, Southampton also look value at 8/5 to win at struggling West Ham. The Hammers have lost six of their last 10 home games and must be worried ahead of this clash with the Saints, who've won four of their last five on the road.

Finally, add in 'Wolves or draw' at 4/7 against Tottenham. Spurs are genuinely struggling up top without their brilliant attacking duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, while Wolves are enjoying a fine season and won't fear a trip to north London. The treble is paying over 11/1 with bet365 and looks tasty.

Selection: £3 on the treble at bet365.

The Euro Wager

There's no bigger game in Europe this weekend than El Clasico, with just two points separating Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. Los Blancos are not in great form so it's something of a surprise to see that the layers have them as short as 6/5 to win on Sunday.

Zinedine Zidane's men lost 1-0 to Levante last weekend and again in midweek and will be without Eden Hazard due to injury. In contrast Barcelona are in decent form and Lionel Messi is scoring goals for fun, plundering four against Eibar last time out.

Barcelona will have also had an additional 24 hours rest after both teams played in Europe in midweek and given how well Messi and Co are playing at the minute then Barca look must bet material at 19/10 to win at the Bernabeu.

Selection: £5 on Barcelona to win at 19/10 with bet365.
