TOP STORY: Gundogan eyes Barcelona and Juventus
Barcelona and Juventus have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, and they now look to be his preferred two options if he leaves Manchester City this summer, according to a report from Bild.
Gundogan, 31, has a contract at the Etihad Stadium which is set to enter its final year at the end of the month, but he isn't prepared to sign a new deal without assurances from manager Pep Guardiola that he will feature regularly for the Premier League champions.
The Germany international wants to ensure that he has a starting role with one eye on the 2022 World Cup later this year, and is reported to be aware of the interest from the two European heavyweights.
Should his place at City look uncertain after Guardiola finalises his squad reinforcements, Gundogan could look to engineer a move away from the club this summer.

22.25 BST: Celtic have signed defender Cameron Carter-Vickers from Premier League side Spurs, the club announced on Friday.
Carter-Vickers has moved to Celtic on a full transfer after signing a four-year contract, as he looks to secure a roster spot for the U.S. at the 2022 World Cup.

22.19 BST: Inter Milan have identified Merih Demiral as a replacement for Milan Skriniar if he joins PSG, though Atalanta have first refusal after he spent last season there on loan, reports Calciomercato.
Skriniar made 28 appearances in Serie A for Atlanta last season, and his move could be made permanent this summer if they decide to activate the option clause worth €20m.
21.47 BST: Newcastle United are considering a move for Switzerland international goalkeeper Yann Sommer, according to TalkSport.
The 33-year-old was a standout performer for his nation at the delayed Euro 2020 tournament last summer, but has just one year left on his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.
Eddie Howe's side have previously been linked with Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
21.23 BST: Barcelona are set to go all-out to land Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, reports Spanish newspaper Sport.
It is reported that the Premier League star is deemed as a priority for the Spanish giants, with hopes of deploying him in a double-pivot system alongside Sergio Busquets.
The 25-year-old's agent, Jorge Mendes, has already been in negotiations with the Camp Nou hierarchy and talks set to advance over the coming weeks.
Neves made 33 league appearances for Bruno Lage's side last season.
20.50 BST: Real Sociedad are the latest club reported to be keen on the signature of France youth international Mohamed Ali-Cho, according to RMC Sport.
The 18-year-old Angers forward has caught the attention of teams across Europe in recent months, with interest from the Bundesliga as well as domestically from Marseille, but the latest indicates that Real Sociedad are looking to convince him to make the switch to La Liga this summer.
20.02 BST: Brentford have made an offer to sign highly-rated Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey, according to The Telegraph.
It has been reported that Brentford are the first club to make contact with the Serie A side regarding his services, with head coach Thomas Frank keen to add the Scotland international to his squad for next season.
Hickey has previously been linked with Arsenal and is valued at around €25m.
19.39 BST: Kalidou Koulibaly has chosen Barcelona as his next destination, Spanish newspaper Sport has reported.
With just one year left on the 30-year-old's contract, he is reportedly looking to leave Napoli after eight years at the club.
It is reported that he has informed the club's hierarchy that he would like to make the switch to the Camp Nou, with the Senegal international prepared to wait until July to give the La Liga side time to raise funds for his signature.
19.04 BST: Jerome Boateng is looking for a move away from Lyon this summer, reports Sky Sports Germany.
Despite speculation surrounding a potential move to Turkey, the 33-year-old centre-back is reported to want to continue playing at the highest-level at a club where he can earn minutes as a regular starter.
Boateng found himself out of Lyon's starting side towards the second half of last season, starting 19 games in Ligue 1.
18.13 BST: Inter Milan are asking for a fee in the region of €40mif they are to allow Denzel Dumfries to join Chelsea, Gazzetta dello Sport have reported.
The Serie A club are keen on raising funds in a bid to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club, the Italian newspaper reported, and have identified the Dumfries as a player who could be moved on from the San Siro.
Dumfries made 45 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri last season.
17.30 BST: Eddie Nketiah expects to sign a new deal with Arsenal in the coming weeks, having reached an agreement in principle with the the north London club, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old forward earned regular minutes after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's move to Barcelona in January and stood out with performances against Chelsea and Leeds. His new deal should be announced before the end of the month, with his contract set to expire on June 30.

Man City are keeping tabs on Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, according to the Athletic.
Pep Guardiola is looking for potential reinforcements at the wing-back position this summer, and after the 21-year-old impressed for Bruno Lage's side last season, it looks as though he has captured the attention of the Premier League champions.
Ait-Nouri made 26 appearances across all competitions for Wolves during the 2021-22 campaign.

14.30 BST: Paris Saint-Germain are trying to convince Zinedine Zidane to become their new manager and replace Mauricio Pochettino, sources have told ESPN.
The two parties are not close to an agreement, with Zidane's entourage denying reports that a deal is done. However, there are discussions, via a third party, and even if the outcome remains uncertain there is hope at PSG that a deal could be done.
Zidane, who won the Champions League in three consecutive seasons as Real Madrid coach, is the priority of the Emir of Qatar, who owns PSG and has been close to Zidane for many years now.
The 1998 World Cup winner, who is from Marseille, PSG's arch rivals, has been without a club since leaving Madrid in the summer of 2021.
He is seen by many as the perfect manager to deal with PSG's star-studded squad, that includes Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Kylian Mbappe, and to finally win the club's first Champions League title.
13.33 BST: Leeds United winger Raphinha is on Arsenal's radar this summer, says The Daily Telegraph.
Raphinha, 25, is expected to leave Elland Road in the coming months and has been linked with a host of top clubs, including Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
West Ham United made an attempt to sign the Brazilian in January, but Leeds are likely to want over £40m to let him depart now they have assured their Premier League status.
Arsenal are keen to rebuild their attack and could be tempted into a move if Nicolas Pepe leaves.
13.03 BST: Sergi Roberto has signed a one-year contract extension with Barcelona, the Catalan club announced on Friday.
Sources have told ESPN that Roberto, whose current deal was due to expire at the end of the month, has taken a big pay cut to remain at Camp Nou to help with the club's delicate financial position.
Roberto, 30, had drawn interest from other teams, including Atletico Madrid, and it looked like he could leave Barca a few months ago.
However, after an injury-hit campaign -- he was restricted to just 12 appearances -- he decided it was best to stay put, with coach Xavi Hernandez also key in getting his renewal over the line.
The midfielder, who can also operate at right-back, has been at Barca since 2006 and, since making his first team debut in 2010 under Pep Guardiola, has played over 300 games for the club.
12.50 BST: Speaking of Paul Pogba...
The France midfielder will leave Man United this summer on a free transfer and RMC claims he is waiting for Zinedine Zidane to join PSG as manager before he considers joining him.
Zidane is expected to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG in the coming days, with Pogba keen to play in Paris under the former Real Madrid manager.
Otherwise, talks with his former club Juventus are still ongoing.
PSG have already announced that former Monaco chief Luis Campos has joined the club as Football Advisor with immediate effect, replacing Leonardo.
12.14 BST: Manchester United are contemplating a move for Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, says TalkSPORT.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 28, has struggled with injury and may need to leave Anfield to get his career back on track, with Liverpool reportedly ready to listen to offers around £10m.
His former club Southampton are interested, but United could move as they seek to replace midfielders Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic.
11.58 BST: Julen Lopetegui will continue to guide Sevilla next season, according to COPE.
Rumours had circulated that the former Spain and Real Madrid manager had received a big offer from another club and would leave at the end of the campaign, despite having two years left on his contract. However, Sevilla sporting director Monchi has reportedly convinced Lopetegui to remain at the club.
Lopetegui joined Sevilla in 2019 and won the Europa League in his first season in charge. Sevilla finished fourth in LaLiga and qualified for the Champions League for a third consecutive campaign.
11.20 BST: New Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso said the club will have to find suitable replacements should captains Jose Luis Gaya and Carlos Soler leave this summer.
Both players have not signed a contract extension with Valencia and have one yet left on their contracts. Midfielder Soler has been a reported target of Barcelona in previous transfer windows, while Atletico Madrid are monitoring left-back Gaya.
"We don't know what will happen, but we know how important they are," Gattuso said. "I want to talk to them and see what can be done. If they left, we would need other players with the same mentality, eagerness and spirit."
Gattuso, who signed a two-year contract with Valencia on Thursday, was asked Valencia's need to move players on to balance their books and he said: "I'm a coach not an accountant. I have no idea what the club owes."

10.41 BST: Real Madrid will not strengthen their attack this summer, according to COPE.
Despite missing out on the signing of France forward Kylian Mbappe, who decided to remain at Paris Saint-Germain, Los Blancos are not in the market for a new striker.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly believes he has his attacking line well covered with Karim Benzema, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Marco Asensio.
Should strikers Luka Jovic and Mariano leave the Bernabeu this summer in search of more playing time, as is expected, Madrid will opt to keep striker Borja Mayoral for the 2022-23 campaign. Mayoral spent the last six months on loan at Getafe.
10.05 BST: Chelsea have signed Olympique Lyonnais and Canada centre-back Kadeisha Buchanan on a three-year deal ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Buchanan, 26, has won five Champions League titles at Lyon, as well as eight domestic trophies including the Coupe de France three times and the French league title five times. She will wear the No. 26 shirt made famous by Chelsea men's captain John Terry.
"I am coming to Chelsea with the same ambition I always had -- win trophies and become the best in the world," she said. "The club has everything in order for us to compete in every competition and it's time to bring a champions league trophy to London.
"I'm hoping to bring my experience to the team and continue on the successful pathway that the club has been on for the past seasons. I can't wait to join my new teammates and the coaching staff on this journey."
09.51 BST: Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says he can't speak about speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona this summer.
Silva, 27, wanted to leave City last year but ended up staying and was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year this week. However, the Portugal international continues to be linked with a transfer and the rumours increased this week when his agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Barca president Joan Laporta.
"Unfortunately I can't say anything," Silva told reporters after Portugal's 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Czech Republic on Thursday. "I am focused on the national team. When the season ends, we will see what happens."
Pep Guardiola said recently it would be "very difficult" for Barca to sign Silva, while the Catalan club's financial situation would further complicate any move for the former Monaco player.
Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this week than any transfer is dependent on Barca first moving on Frenkie de Jong, who is drawing interest from Manchester United at around €80m.
Diario Sport reported on Thursday, following up on a story in The Athletic, that the De Jong has finally given the green light to a move away from Camp Nou despite his initial desire to stay.
09.10 BST: Liverpool are in advanced talks with Benfica over the signing of Darwin Nunez, sources have told ESPN.
Nunez, 22, is set to break Liverpool's transfer record, with the deal expected to be worth around €80m plus €20m in add-ons. The agreement between the clubs has yet to be completed but talks are progressing well.
Benfica were initially only willing to negotiate Nunez's departure for around €130m.
08.48 BST: Fenerbahce have registered an interest in Andreas Pereira but the Manchester United midfielder has also been told he will be given an opportunity to impress new manager Erik ten Hag during the summer tour of Thailand and Australia, sources have told ESPN.
Pereira spent last season on loan at Flamengo but a permanent move to the Brazilian side has all but collapsed.
Ten Hag has indicated to Pereira that he will be part of the first-team squad during preseason and is set to be given opportunities in friendlies against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid.
Sources have told ESPN that the 26-year-old's future remains up in the air and he hasn't ruled out a move away from Old Trafford if it represents a better chance of playing regular football.
08.17 BST: Barcelona will up their offer to keep Gavi at the club as they look to end speculation about the midfielder's Camp Nou future, sources have told ESPN.
Barca will make "a big financial effort," one club source said, to come to an agreement with Gavi's agent, former midfielder Ivan de la Pena. They have drawn up a contract that will run until 2027 and include a €1bn release clause.
The two parties are looking for a date to sit down and close the issue once and for all. Sources on both sides of the talks are optimistic an extension will be agreed soon, with the player's deal due to expire in summer 2023.
Gavi, 17, has had a breakout season for club and country, but Spain coach Luis Enrique suggested last week that "he remains unknown even to those close to him" in what was taken to be a dig at Barca as they dragged their heels during contract negotiations.
08.00 BST: Erik ten Hag has prioritised the signing of a central midfielder as the first step in his rebuilding programme as Manchester United manager, sources have told ESPN, with the club focusing on that position rather than engaging in a battle with Liverpool for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
Ralf Rangnick, in his role as interim manager at United during the second half of last season, said that the addition of a proven goalscorer to the squad this summer should be a key area of recruitment due to the departure of out of contract Edinson Cavani and the risks of relying on 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo for the bulk of the team's goals.
But although Ten Hag wants United to boost their goalscoring output next season after ending the Premier League season with just 57 goals in 38 games, sources have said that the former Ajax coach believes that the existing attacking options, including Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga, can significantly improve their collective strike-rate.
United are prepared to add to their attacking options if the right player becomes available, but initial enquiries about Nunez saw Benfica quote a price tag of £100m for the Uruguay international -- a fee regarded as excessive for the 22-year-old.

- Newcastle are prioritising a move for Sven Botman as soon as possible, writes Fabrizio Romano. The Magpies are reported to have been in discussions with Lille since January, with the 22-year-old centre-back open to moving to the Premier League. He has also been linked with Serie A champions AC Milan, who could be set to challenge Eddie Howe's side for his signature if talks advance.
- The representatives of Ajax forward Antony have travelled to meet with Manchester United as they continue to discuss a deal that would see the 22-year-old follow manager Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford. That's according to Goal, which says there is hope that United will be able to close a deal in the coming days. It is reported that the Eredivisie side would be looking for a fee of around €60m.
- Roma boss Jose Mourinho is looking to reinforce his attack during this summer and has identified Dries Mertens as a potential option, reveals Calciomercato. The 35-year-old forward could be acquired on a free transfer, with his deal set to expire on June 30, and with Roma finding it difficult to find a way to sign PSG's Mauro Icardi, the Giallorossi could be prepared to land Mertens.
- Rangers are keen on signing Turkey international goalkeeper Berke Özer, according to Ekrem Konur. The 22-year-old was a standout performer for Fenerbahce last season, but first drew the attention of Chelsea and Manchester City with his performances at youth international level with Turkey. He made 19 appearances across all competitions last season, including an impressive display in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt who edged past Rangers in the final.
- Villarreal right-back Serge Aurier is set to become a free agent, reports AS. The LaLiga club have decided not to renew his contract, which will see him available to join other clubs on June 30. The 29-year-old made 24 appearances for Unai Emery's side last season, after joining from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
